Dear Friends, 
 
I am pleased to announce that after many months of preparing audio and written material, that phase one of the Teacher of Teachers website is now online and waiting to be utilized. I won't spend much time here describing it because it really speaks for itself. However, I will copy and paste a few items directly from the site which gives an overview of it.  
 
I did wanted to make a note of one thing which I feel is of importance for the site's users. You can access the website by two different URLs (website addresses). You may use http://www.teachero fteachers. net or http://www.miracles home.org. Either one will take you to the same place. However, by using the miracleshome. org address, this should allow your browser to give you the title to each page and each audio at the top of your screen as you go through the materials. I think this can be particularly helpful when you are listening to an audio track and wondering, "What's the name of this talk?" If you are using miracleshome. org you will know. Otherwise it will just say something like "Teacher of Teachers – A Course in Miracles Study Resource". The domain name teacherofteachers. net forwards to miracleshome. org and for some reason it doesn't make the page titles available when you use that URL.

Now, I want to thank all of the volunteers that gave their time, devotion and love to this project. It couldn't have happened any other way. Even if you volunteered but I didn't have a project for you at the time, I still want to express my gratitude and to also let you know that I still have your email addresses and I haven't forgotten about you!   
 
It has been a joy and an inspiration to work on this site and it brought so many people together to serve a purpose that is totally unknown to this world. This website is given to the Sonship by the Sonship and I am honored and blessed to have taken a role in its initiation. This has been a profound experience of the idea in the Course that states, "the only true pleasure is doing God's Will".

I leave you with the following and I do encourage you to follow the suggestions given as to how to use the site. Lots of consideration was taken in the organization of the materials. Without further ado, here is your website Beloved One.

Teacher of Teachers is dedicated to the advanced teachings of  
A Course in Miracles. This website is intended as a study aid for anyone who wishes to study and master the theories of ACIM. This library contains approximately forty-five hours of audio MP3's and nearly two hundred fifty pages of written material.

About this website...

Teacher of Teachers refers to the Holy Spirit, which in A Course in Miracles terminology is also called the Voice for God and the Right-Mind. The intention of this website is to be as clearly aligned with the Holy Spirit, the one true Teacher, as possible and for the materials available here to be reflective of that perspective. On that note, we have felt guided to make this website as 'impersonal' as possible, or even 'anonymous' in the sense that the focus here is the content of the materials, the conveying of ideas, rather than on whomever the speaker or the writer seemed to be. This serves as a reminder that all true wisdom is of the Spirit rather than persons. It wasn't practical in all circumstances to eliminate every name mentioned - particularly in audio format - but this has been done in most cases with the written material.

A large quantity of the audio material on this website has never been made available before. Most of the audio material on this site had been archived in audiocassette format for many years, having been moved around from damp basements to hot attics, trunks of cars and finally office shelves. Much care has been put into the preservation of the sound quality of these materials but in some cases full restoration of the sound was not possible. We would encourage you to keep in mind that the material that is available here is available because of its content. Certain tracks may have spots where it is hard to hear but in most cases this lasts only briefly. Transcripts have been made for most tracks that were of lesser audio quality.

Like any other tool, this website is a beginning and not an end. What you will find here is a collection of ideas and no single idea in this world is wholly true. Only one thing is for certain, and that is; you will find what you are looking for because, as the Course says, the mind always gets what it wants. We would invite you to simply be open to the ideas here rather than immediately accepting or rejecting them. Thoroughly open your mind and inquire within and there will the Teacher be.

The format of this website is done in a way to make more efficient use of the growing quantity of materials and archives which have been accumulated over the years, allowing the user to explore a great number of the concepts and ideas in a simple format. Much more will be added to this website when it is available. It is now and may always be a work in progress. We invite your comments and suggestions and hope that you will feel free to contact us anytime.

How to use this website... 
 
We recommend that you start with the first item listed on the 'Laying the Framework' page and then continue in order to the last item before moving on to the next set. Don't forget the supplemental materials!

Teacher of Teachers is setup to start from the beginning. As Jesus says in ACIM, healing is done from the bottom up and not the top down. As said, most of the audio material on this website has never been made available before. Other materials have been made available and archived in various sources on the web and are now here to be utilized more efficiently. All materials have been organized and arranged to build upon each other. The focal points of this website are the audio recordings and the longer papers or transcripts. Supplemental material is added where appropriate. Links to the key metaphysical principles for the audio tracks will be added very soon.

The materials library is constructed of three parts:

The first is called Laying the Framework. It starts with some of the most basic (and fundamental) ideas that are presented in A Course in Miracles as well as some items about the Course itself. A lot of the first questions and issues that are raised by those who find the Course are answered here in one form or another. Some of the early metaphors of the Course are introduced and explored as well as some of the fundamental metaphysical ideas.

The second set of materials is called Unlearning the World. This section covers many concepts, particularly the middle and later metaphors used by the Course. This is the stage of learning where egoic assumptions, beliefs and distortions are brought more clearly into awareness. A solid understanding of the ACIM metaphysics is the key to moving into the final stage of learning to unlearn the world; the transfer of training.

The third set of materials is called The Transfer of Training. Knowing the ideas isn't enough to have the experience beyond the words; they must be lived and applied. The deepest teachings about the advanced ideas of cause and effect as well as the subject / object split and relationships are covered here as well as many other ideas. A solid understanding of the most advanced metaphors of ACIM combined with a willingness to transfer those ideas to one's life without exception has only one result; a clear mind and consistent happiness.

Holy Spirit Speaks Part 5 of 5 Remember this From My Universal Curriculum

 

To transfer My ideas to ones life wholly opens the mind to knowing. To be free of confusion and fear is to be truly religious. Only the total transfer of the My Universal Curriculum (which is rooted in the idea of forgiveness) will undo the confusion between form and content. Remember this, "The only judgment involved is the Holy Spirit's one division into two categories; one of love, and the other the call for love. You cannot safely make this division, for you are much too confused either to recognize love, or to believe that everything else is nothing but a call for love. You are too bound to form, and not to content. What you consider content is not content at all. It is merely form, and nothing else. For you do not respond to what a brother really offers you, but only to the particular perception of his offering by which the ego judges it."

 

I have said many times before, confusion will end completely when My Course is used as a ladder for the specific (worldly) oriented mind, so that it can be launched into abstraction through a series of concepts that undo themselves. The mind is too attached to make the giant leap. So I have given you a conceptual course to loosen your mind into that which is naturally abstract. The point is not too-camp out or get stuck on a metaphor or concept. Neither are we to organize or conceptualize spirit within the world. This is a contradiction and denies My Curriculum.  The point is to yield into abstraction by loosening the mind from form- we use this stepping stone approach until all concepts has been transcended.  Remember this, "Thus were specifics made. And now it is specifics we must use in practicing. We give them to the Holy Spirit, that He may employ them for a purpose which is different from the one we gave to them. Yet He can use but what we made, to teach us from a different point of view, so we can see a different use in everything…This world is full of miracles. They stand in shining silence next to every dream of pain and suffering, of sin and guilt. They are the dream's alternative, the choice to be the dreamer, rather than deny the active role in making up the dream. They are the glad effects of taking back the consequence of sickness to its cause. The body is released because the mind acknowledges "this is not done to me, but I am doing this". And thus the mind is free to make another choice instead. Beginning here, salvation will proceed to change the course of every step in the descent to separation, until all the steps have been retraced, the ladder gone, and all the dreaming of the world undone."

Level confused teachers and students equate truth with conceptual thought, therefore denying My ladder. These confused teachers are teachers of ego. I am calling you from the world and one needs to be very clear on all worldly values, assumptions, so one can be a teacher of God. A true teacher of God can teach through silence, they teach through the joy of being one. There is nothing to do but Be Who You Are. The true teacher can teach without words.  I am calling all to teach only love, but only a few hear My Voice. Like I have said, "To teach is to demonstrate. There are only two thought systems, and you demonstrate that you believe one or the other is true all the time. From your demonstration others learn, and so do you. The question is not whether you will teach, for in that there is no choice. The purpose of the course might be said to provide you with a means of choosing what you want to teach on the basis of what you want to learn. You cannot give to someone else, but only to yourself, and this you learn through teaching. Teaching is but a call to witnesses to attest to what you believe. It is a method of conversion. This is not done by words alone. Any situation must be to you a chance to teach others what you are, and what they are to you. No more than that, but also never less."

 

Many of My teachers and students of the universal curriculum proclaim to be teachers of God. They spend much of their time picking passages (quoting scripture), focusing on precise terminology (form). They use their intellectual stances to prove their assumptions. Some make personal careers on these assumptions; and many teachers' right books without questioning their assumptions.  Most books are based on ones personal assumptions and yet they proclaim they have the truth. They do this to establish their opinions, to solidify their egos. This is missing the mark of My Curriculum. The undoing of the ego is the only purpose for time and the world. This is not about good or bad, because you are beyond this world of duality. But those who cling to interpretations - cling to the word - cling to ones earthly lives are far from the truth and there is a consequence for this; there is pain and destruction. Remember this, "The arrogant must cling to words, afraid to go beyond them to experience <which> might affront their stance. Yet are the humble free to hear the Voice which tells them what they are, and what to do."

 

Its insistence, its stance, shows the egos attempts to preserve itself through a conceptual identity of its particular spiritual path, an identity based on conceptual thought. True spirituality isn't about having a belief system, even a superior belief system that is to be revered. It is about undoing, it's about the Atoning of all beliefs. Once the mind is free of belief, it can reference from abstraction, which is beyond belief.  But until abstraction is experienced, beliefs will be our tool – they can be nothing more. True spirituality is learning to accept perception as it is, seeing life now. Remember, "Complete abstraction is the natural condition of the mind. But part of it is now unnatural. It does not look on everything as one. It sees instead but fragments of the whole, for only thus could it invent the partial world you see. The purpose of all seeing is to show you what you wish to see. All hearing but brings to your mind the sounds it wants to hear."

Let me ask this question: Can the mind, <which> is not of this world, ever free itself from the desire for the world? Lowering the mask of personhood is the only purpose for the world. Lowering the mask of personhood frees the mind. Allow the persona to crumble, allow it to fall away!  Let go of your ideas of family, religion, spirituality, God, truth, let go of all belief and values of the world. My angels sing through out heaven as you see the superficiality of all belief and theology. When we can see the attempt to be spiritual through a belief system is missing the mark - then the way out of illusions is seen and recognized. Understanding this is a giant leap towards the preparation of Knowledge. Remember this, "Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God."

 

What do you feel? Is peace in your awareness? Are you certain which way you go? And are you sure the goal of Heaven can be reached? If not, you walk alone. Ask, then, your Friend to join with you, and give you certainty of where you go."

The Course or any other form of My Universal curriculum is not to be revered or made special. Most of the worlds wars today are rooted in the belief in separate religions. The escape from all concepts and beliefs is salvation. You don't have to seek for the light, because what is true is ever present. The aim is not to seek for what is true;the aim is to remove all blocks to loves awareness. In the end all belief is to be relinquished, because God is beyond belief. Many religions and spiritual leaders are stuck at this level of conceptual understanding (form), they do not see the superficiality of form, and A Course in Miracles is included in that,the worldly see the form as content within itself.   Pure content is abstraction and beyond all form. Remember this, "You are a perfect creation, and should experience awe only in the presence of the Creator of perfection."

 

The worldly fills its mind with superficial beliefs about God, Truth, and Spirit. All of this is superficial. The superficial cling, they are angry and violent when another doesn't accept its beliefs, they are jealous and envious when another seems to have something they want. They are furious if another doesn't accept their belief. All of this blocks Me from entering your mind and therefore denies true religion. The truly religious is beyond belief; they have seen the fallacy of words and concepts. Remember this, "I have made every effort to use words that are almost impossible to distort, but it is always possible to twist symbols around if you wish."

 

The worldly does not know how to love or know how to leave things be as they are. The worldly craves to be understood, to be loved and seen as special people. Remember this, "The body is the central figure in the dreaming of the world. There is no dream without it,nor does it exist without the dream in which it acts as if it were a person to be seen and be believed. It takes the central place in every dream, which tells the story of how it was made by other bodies, born into the world outside the body, lives a little while and dies, to be united in the dust with other bodies dying like itself. In the brief time allotted it to live, it seeks for other bodies as its friends and enemies. Its safety is its main concern. Its comfort is its guiding rule. It tries to look for pleasure, and avoid the things that would be hurtful. Above all, it tries to teach itself its pains and joys are different and can be told apart."

 

In the Holiness of the present moment no one is special, for your personal needs intrude on no one to make your brothers seem different. The belief that you are a person is the one fundamental problem you have. Remember this, "All mind is whole, and the belief that part of it is physical, or not mind, is a fragmented or sick interpretation. "

 

The worldly gives in order to receive, which is of the ego, not the Spirit. Giving and receiving are one, they are simultaneous and this truth stands outside of time, therefore true giving is receiving. Remember the miracle of my words, "No one can lose, and everyone must benefit. Each miracle is an example of what justice can accomplish when it is offered to everyone alike. It is received and given equally. It is awareness that giving and receiving are the same. Because it does not make the same unlike, it sees no differences where none exists. And thus it is the same for everyone, because it sees no differences in them. Its offering is universal, and it teaches but one message: What is God's belongs to everyone, and is his due."

 

You are forever seeking, either for recognition, security or something to believe in, a nation, an ideology, an interpretation, it doesn't matter; it is all insecure and misdirected loyalty. I have given you a picture but you are only seeing its frame. You do not know how to look. Look at the picture wholly. Do not let the frame (form of My Course) distract you.  Remember this, "You cannot have the frame without the picture. What you value is the frame, for there you see no conflict. Yet the frame is only the wrapping for the gift of conflict. The frame is not the gift. Be not deceived by the most superficial aspects of this thought system, for these aspects enclose the whole, complete in every aspect. Death lies in this glittering gift. Let not your gaze dwell on the hypnotic gleaming of the frame. Look at the picture, and realize that death is offered you."

 

It is easy to curse a government, a dictator, a murder; it is easy to curse another. But this very attitude of domination and control, this craving for power is in the minds of almost everyone. The seed of war is in everyone who perceives a world apart from oneself. The real question is, will you water the seed or pluck it before the seed takes root? Because a tree that bears no fruit will be cut away. Remember this, "The branch that bears no fruit will be cut off and will wither away. Be glad! The light will shine from the true Foundation of life, and your own thought system will stand corrected. It cannot stand otherwise. You who fear salvation are choosing death. Life and death, light and darkness, knowledge and perception, are irreconcilable. To believe that they can be reconciled is to believe that God and His Son can not. Only the oneness of knowledge is free of conflict. Your kingdom is not of this world because it was given you from beyond this world.

 

The worldly wars over its beliefs, its classes, and it seeming distinctions. There is no degree of war; a war is anything unlike perfect peace, either it's an irritation or a full on war between nations.  It's all the same. This is the authority problem, and is the only problem you really have. Until the source is healed there will always be confusion and hate, which is war. Remember this, " Besides your recognizing that thoughts are never idle, salvation requires that you also recognize that every thought you have brings either peace or war; either love or fear. A neutral result is impossible because a neutral thought is impossible. There is such a temptation to dismiss fear thoughts as unimportant, trivial and not worth bothering about that it is essential you recognize them all as equally destructive, but equally unreal. We will practice this idea in many forms before you really understand it…take not one step in the descent to hell. For having taken one, you will not recognize the rest for what they are. And they will, follow. Attack in any form has placed your foot upon the twisted stairway that leads from Heaven. Yet any instant it is possible to have all this undone. How can you know whether you chose the stairs to Heaven or the way to hell? Quite easily.

Separation 'question' revisited

Question:

In this total perfect love bliss where forgiveness is not even a
concept, our now, that we have forgotten, what was the cause that
effected the illusion of separation? And if it happened once can it
happen again? Why a mass forgetting?

Your love and attention is much appreciated and your responses are
eagerly awaited.

Beloved One,

Separation is an assumption, a belief, not a reality. The ego will
ask many questions that there is no conceptual answer for, such
as: "How did the separation happen?" "To whom did the separation
happen?" And many more. There is no theory or concept that can
answer an impossible or hypothetical question that has no basis in
reality. Yet if you look at some of the daily emotions that come up
for you, you can see that you believe that the separation happened.
That is why Christ says: To learn this Course requires willingness to
question every value that you hold. Not one belief can be kept
hidden or it will obscure your learning.

There is an experience that will come that will end all doubting.
Practically speaking, seek for the experience by questioning the ego
belief system of linear time-space, not how the impossible could have
happened. This is removing the obstacles to Love. :)

Beloved, through the 'parable of David' I have spoken in 20 countries
and on 4 continents to thousands of people around the world, and the
question being asked is the #1 question I hear. :)

The Joy and Love I experience some call Enlightenment, and it is
simply the Now. In the Now all seeming questions vanish in
Certainty, yet the questioning of the ego belief system was essential
in my Awakening. I have left many bread crumbs behind, so to speak,
in the hundreds of hours of gatherings that were shared all over the
world - many of which were recorded.

Forgiveness was the final concept, the only concept that released the
ego belief and yielded perfect Happiness. :) Forgiveness, or
Atonement, is thus the seeming gateway of experience that transcends
all theology and unreal questions. For you helpful questions are now
ones that undo or dissolve unconscious assumptions.

Check out the web site, and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. :)
The seeming amnesia about Love is undone in forgiveness. What
never 'happened' can thus never 'happen again.' And there is
no 'mass' forgetting in the Now, only One Being Loving. :)

Remember this From My Universal Curriculum

By giving you My Universal Curriculum I am merely holding up a mirror to point the way to the light of who You really are. I am not giving you this so one can make a new identity. You can take this truth or leave it. And many of you will leave it, for the obvious reason that you will not find gratification in My words. Therefore you will not support them, because you support what you value. Some of you will be tickled and love My words but you will be greatly confused and be teachers of ego. All are called but only a few will transfer My words fully in this generation. These words are for those who have the ears to hear. Remember this from My book A Course in Miracles, "To learn this course requires willingness to question every value that you hold. Not one can be kept hidden and obscure but it will jeopardize your learning. No belief is neutral. Every one has the power to dictate each decision you make. For a decision is a conclusion based on everything that you believe. It is the outcome of belief, and follows it as surely as does suffering follow guilt and freedom sinlessness. There is no substitute for peace. What God creates has no alternative. The truth arises from what He knows. And your decisions come from your beliefs as certainly as all creation rose in His Mind because of what He knows." (T.24.IN.2.1)

Defending and making another wrong through an intellectual stance of a particular spiritual idea, or any idea denies My Curriculum. The whole aim of My Universal Curriculum is to see the present moment as it is, to see that all is perfect now, that there is nothing to be resolved, corrected or fixed. Remember this, "To the extent to which you value guilt, to that extent will you perceive a world in which attack is justified. To the extent to which you recognize that guilt is meaningless, to that extent you will perceive attack cannot be justified. This is in accord with perception's fundamental law: You see what you believe is there, and you believe it there because you want it there. Perception has no other law than this. The rest but stems from this, to hold it up and offer it support. This is perception's form, adapted to this world, of God's more basic law; that love creates itself, and nothing but itself."

There is no journey to God; there is only the timeless moment of Now! When one recognizes this truth, you will see that the separation has not occurred. Remember this, "The mind can make the belief in separation very real and very fearful, and this belief is the "devil". It is powerful, active, destructive and clearly in opposition to God, because it literally denies His Fatherhood. Look at your life and see what the devil has made. But realize that this making will surely dissolve in the light of truth, because its foundation is a lie…Nothing at all has happened but that you have put yourself to sleep, and dreamed a dream in which you were an alien to yourself, and but a part of someone else's dream. The miracle does not awaken you, but merely shows you who the dreamer is. It teaches you there is a choice of dreams while you are still asleep, depending on the purpose of your dreaming. Do you wish for dreams of healing, or for dreams of death? A dream is like a memory in that it pictures what you wanted shown to you."

I take no sides and I judge not the road you seem to travel. I perceive no separation, because I do not see what is not real. This is your calling, a calling into pure abstraction. But this is not what the world wants for spirituality or religion. This is too simple. Unless you believe <think> exactly as the world proclaims spirituality or religion to be, then you are wrong in its eyes. In the worlds eyes there are believers and the unbelievers. This is level confusion, confusing the form of My Universal Course (content) with its particular expression (form). It is important to know that God or Truth can be but known. The important thing to remember is that you are not on either side because there are no sides to truth! There is only Oneness. How can there be sides in abstraction, in Oneness? When we have abstraction, which is ones natural condition; then we have freedom because there is nothing to choose from. This is religion.

I want to make this clear: Nobody misleads anyone else. You are faithful to one or the other, the ego or Me. You make the choice. The most important idea to be clear on is the idea of `cause'. The closest approximation to `cause' or creation that the perceptual realm offers is `choice'. You are either choosing one thought system or another, fear or love, illusions or forgiveness and you cannot serve two masters. Love or fear is the only options that are available in the perceptual realm. And one of them is an illusion and the other is real, which is choiceless abstraction. Remember this, "Whatever is true is eternal, and cannot change or be changed. Spirit is therefore unalterable because it is already perfect, but the mind can elect what it chooses to serve. The only limit put on its choice is that it cannot serve two masters. If it elects to do so, the mind can become the medium by which spirit creates along the line of its own creation. If it does not freely elect to do so, it retains its creative potential but places itself under tyrannous rather than Authoritative control. As a result it imprisons, because such are the dictates of tyrants. To change your mind means to place it at the disposal of true Authority."

"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

Matthew 6:24

The power of your mind lies in your interpretation, so the question is; where do you want to place the power of your mind? Who do you want to lead you? Do you prefer the world and its system of thought or the complete relinquishment of the worlds system? Remember this, "You hate the one you gave the leader's role when you would have it, and you hate as well his not assuming it at times you want to let the follower in you arise, and give away the role of leadership. And this is what you made your brother for, and learned to think that this his purpose is. Unless he serves it, he has not fulfilled the function that was given him by you. And thus he merits death, because he has no purpose and no usefulness to you…. Christ calls to all with equal tenderness, seeing no leaders and no followers, and hearing but one answer to them all. Because He hears one Voice,he cannot hear a different answer from the one He gave when God appointed Him His only Son."

Having a belief system, a set of conceptual thoughts that you regard as the absolute truth, does not make you spiritual or an authority no matter what the foundation of those beliefs are. And in fact the more you make your thoughts (beliefs) into your identity, the more you will be blocked from loves awareness. This is why it's important to undo and question all beliefs. God is beyond belief. Remember this, "Nor is belief in God a really meaningful concept, for God can be but known. Belief implies that unbelief is possible, but knowledge of God has no true opposite. Not to know God is to have no knowledge, and it is to this that all unforgiveness leads. And without knowledge one can have only belief…. All terms are potentially controversial, and those who seek controversy will find it….Theological considerations as such are necessarily controversial, since they depend on belief and can therefore be accepted or rejected. A universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary. It is this experience toward which the course is directed. A Course Chronology Notes from David Hoffmeister

Spring 1965	In the spring of 1965, just before setting out for a difficult departmental meeting, Bill makes an impassioned speech to Helen in which he says, "There must be another way. Our attitudes are so negative that we cannot work anything out." To Bill's surprise, Helen agrees, without reservation, to help him find "another way."
Summer 1965	A dramatic progression of waking dreams for Schucman ensues, culminating with her experiencing a Voice which speaks clearly in her mind. The Voice, which Helen references with a capital "V", explains to her the visions she has been receiving.
October 1965	One day in October 1965, Helen heard the Voice say: "This is a course in miracles; please take notes." With Thetford's support and assistance in transcribing her shorthand notes, Schucman takes down, over several years, some 1,500 typewritten pages which becomes A Course in Miracles.
1969	A lengthy process of retyping the Course begins. Bill Thetford is adamant that no changes be made other than correcting the typing errors and removing specifically personal material. Jesus designates Bill to be the one in charge of all changes. At least one copy is given to Fr. Benedict Groeshel, CFR, (Also known as "Father Michael"), a graduate student of Helen and Bill's.
Spring 1972	Dictation of the third volume, Manual for Teachers, begins.
September 1972	The retyping of the text is completed. The transcribing of the third and final volume, the Manual for Teachers, is completed.
Fall 1972	In the months following the completion of A Course in Miracles in 1972, at least four people are given allegedly unrestricted copies: Cal Thatcher, a close friend of Helen's; Fr. Benedict Groeshel, CFR, student of Helen's; Hugh Lynn Cayce, son of psychic Edgar Cayce and Kenneth Wapnick, a clinical psychologist, who had recently converted to Catholicism and is informed of Bill and Helen through Father Groeshel.
November 1972	Helen and Bill meet Ken Wapnick for the first time . He leaves shortly afterward for Israel to spend some quiet time before entering the monastery.
May 1973	Ken Wapnick returns from Israel, meets with Helen and asks to see Helen's manuscript.
Fall 1973	Ken requests permission from Helen to re-edit the Course. During the editing: 25% of the first 5 chapters is deleted; paragraphs are rearranged; chapter and section titles, previously inserted by Bill and Helen during their re-typing, are changed; punctuation is changed; CAPITALIZATION, previously included for emphasis, is changed to lower case and, in only a few cases, replaced with italics. The 53 miracle principles are changed to 50. Descriptions of the miracle principles are re-arranged and in some cases obtained from other areas of the text. 127 references to "Soul" are changed to 12. The word "Soul" is either deleted or changed to another word such as: creations, you, spirit.
Spring 1975	Helen, Bill and Ken meet Judy Skutch, president of the Foundation for Parasensory Investigation, during a meeting which has been previously arranged to discuss holistic healing. Judy is shown the newly revised "Course in Miracles".
Summer 1975	Judy Skutch receives permission from Helen and Bill to share copies of the Course with close friends. Judy gives copies to several close friends, among them are Jerry Jampolsky and Jim Bolen.
Fall 1975	The Foundation for Parasensory Investigation changes its name to the Foundation for Inner Peace.
September 1975	Criswell Edition is printed and distributed.
October 1975	Application for a copyright is made. FIP intends to register the copyright with "Jesus" as the author. When informed that a copyright could not legally be granted to a non-physical author, FIP does not list the name of Jesus, but instead lists "Anonymous (Helen Schucman)".
December 1975	Copyright is granted.
June 1976	First Edition abridgment is printed.
February 1981	Helen Schucman dies in New York City.
1985	Second Edition is published.
1987	In the 1987 Video, produced by the FIP, promoting and describing the Course, Ken Wapnick says on camera: "One of the things I was most impressed with about the course was that Jesus was the author of it. I just could not believe that anyone else could have written it. It was very clear to me that Helen could not have written it and I just could not imagine it having any other source than Jesus himself."
1987	In "How it Came", a 1987 video produced by FIP Judith Skutch relates: "At this point it seemed clear that I had to study this document and while studying it, I shared it with a lot of people. I made many trips to California and while I was there I told a whole community of people I worked with the story of the Course. Naturally they all wanted to see copies. I was kept busy running off Xerox copies and at $.05 a copy of a 1000 page document, it was very expensive." There was a great story I heard years ago from Ken Wapnick. He went to visit these nuns. He went to this church and entered the sanctuary area and the nuns were all studying A Course in Miracles. They had invited him to come and talk to them about metaphysics. Basically they were practicing lesson 1, letting their eyes move across the sanctuary - these pews do not mean anything, this stained glass window does not mean anything - and they got to the point where they came to the Eucharist. They said, of course we'll skip that. We can't say that about the body of Christ. But actually Jesus says that in the Course. Jesus says that I can't share my body with you, I can share my mind. Jesus would actually say that seeing the meaninglessness of the body is a good practical application of His Course. Do it with the Eucharist too. But when you've been raised with a system that sees that body as sacred, it takes undoing of the belief that there is anything sacred in form. Your mind is sacred. Your Being-ness is sacred. Everything in form is part of the forgiveness lesson. You can see it that way.

Gary Renard touched on the mind this morning and I would like to focus on it today. The mind, in the full awareness of the Atonement, knows that the separation never happened. The full awareness of the Atonement is that the separation never happened. I have traveled more miles than you can even imagine. I've been doing it for 16 years and always hear the same questions, "How did the impossible occur?" "To whom did the impossible occur?" I call them the top questions. How did this happen in the first place? How could perfection, how could God, ever make a mistake? Or how could Christ, who is a perfect Being, ever make a mistake? And basically, it is a statement. When you ask the questions, "How did the impossible occur?" or "How did this happen in the first place?" there is an assumption underneath the questions. And what is that assumption? That it happened! Of course the ego likes that assumption. Then it can ask all kind of questions including how this happened.

It is like you are on a wild goose chase to find the right theology, the right teacher, the right technique, the right mantra. Oh my gosh, the guilt at trying to solve that question. But the very assumption is something we have to learn to release. There will be no theology that will come along to get you out of this. There isn't going to be a concept. There will be an experience that will come
that will end your doubting. In the Course that experience is the Atonement. The Atonement is full awareness that the separation never happened. In this respect, A Course in Miracles is a launching pad. You are on a launching pad where you are ready to take off in a rocket and get up in orbit where you have no sense of gravity. You are happy and free. A Course in Miracles is a book that is just designed to help you get up into orbit, into Being-ness, into your perfection.

One of the errors I'll talk about today, one of the metaphysical errors, is spiritualizing matter. When you try to take anything in form and make it special or spiritual, this is the error. For example, you've heard "go to India and bathe in the Ganges, it is a sacred river."
Or you may have heard that the oil that Mary Magdalene put on Jesus' feet is the sacred oil.
How much does it cost now? I want some of that oil that was on Jesus' feet. Or it seems to play out with food and drink. Drink from the sacred water.
We know from Catholicism you get baptized with holy water - it isn't just tap water, it has to be holy water. The water is supposed to be blessed by a priest to make it holy. These would all be spiritualizing matter errors, or trying to make something sacred in form when only your mind is sacred. The ego wants you to believe that there are certain things that are sacred in form so then you won't forget them. You will cling to them, you will ritualize them. You will hang on, hang on, and hang on. That is an example of spiritualizing matter. That is one common mistake.

Another error results if you start to see anything in form or in the script as being causative, since images are really unreal effects of an unreal cause. The images of the world are unreal effects. And the unreal cause is the ego. The Course teaches that God didn't create this world, God creates the eternal. God creates in Spirit. You know we are all familiar with the phrases in the Bible, "Hold no graven images before the Lord thy God." I always thought about golden calves and stuff like that. Jesus is saying the image is of the cosmos, the graven images are like a veil drawn over the face of Christ to cover the Light.

"We want to be so thorough in tracing "specific personal choices" back to the false belief that underlies them all, that there is the opening for the grand moment that seems to change everything and yet is changeless, this Instant.

The teaching I share is that enlightenment is available this very moment. And anything in one's mind that stands in the way of that recognition of enlightenment right now must first be questioned, and then seen for what it is - illusion.

Please don't get into comparing who is enlightened and who is not. Enlightenment is not personal. Just consider these ideas and the holiness of the intention to be clear. Just say and mean: "I want peace! I want it more than anything else.

I'm going to drop all my masks. I see that in order to drop them, I'm going to have to look at them. I want to see the masks for what they are. I want to discern the false from the true — to be right-minded. What a precious opportunity this is!"

Can you think of anything more important than looking at one's own mind and examining the obstacles to this recognition? Is there anything that even comes close to that? This is a very precious opportunity! "

I am happy to share some thoughts about the way I `arrived' at feeling the complete contentment of this Present Moment. The form of the inner journey seems different for everyone, though there are commonalities that give a hint of the same Purpose that unites us all.

For everyone the journey involves an undoing, an unlearning, or an unraveling of beliefs and concepts and assumptions about everything. As the mind is emptied of concepts it becomes obvious that nothing of form and appearances can be assumed to be true, and yet trust in a Wisdom not of this world grows stronger and stronger in awareness until a State of Certainty of Identity emerges.

For me I can say that it began with a sense of curiosity about the meaning of life. Questions about purpose and healing and direction and death and unrecognized beliefs flittered about my mind and kept recurring over and over like a music play list. Most of my childhood and teen years held enough worries and concerns and hobbies to keep my mind distracted from this curiosity, but after I entered university studies the questions about the purpose of everything could not be kept out of awareness.

I used time in a truly helpful manner during 10 years of university studies by literally questioning everything I believed and questioning everything I had previously assumed to be real and true. I was able to release thoughts that told me I should just pick a role and play a part and grow old and die, and I knew in my heart that there was something amiss with the world I perceived.

Though I did not know what had distorted my perception of the world or how to escape the picture of conflict, I knew that freedom and peace and love and joy were what I hoped to experience and live.

When my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and I watched him wither away to appear like a walking skeleton, and then I experienced his death, my spiritual journey to `Know Thyself' got a jump start and kicked into full speed ahead. Questions that I had never given myself permission to ask came flooding into awareness, and the answers and insights came flooding in as well.

Before I began graduate studies I had found a trustworthy gateway Home - a tickle in my heart that seemed to be Guiding me ever more rapidly inward, developing and strengthening my trust in the Intuitive Spirit, and unfolding before me the steps leading beyond the thinking of the world.

As I followed the tickle I found books that accelerated the opening of my mind, I met people that witnessed to my desire to be truly free, and I experienced glimpses of the deep peace and love that passeth the understanding of the world. Suddenly every relationship was a golden opportunity to heal, every upset was an inroad to unconscious false beliefs, and every opening of my heart was a Homecoming celebration. I was being called out of the thinking of the world to the Kingdom of Heaven within.

After two years of immersing with A Course In Miracles, often for eight hours a day, I began hearing the Voice of Jesus speaking clearly and specifically in my mind, instructing me in the ways of mastering His teachings on forgiveness. I received directions of where to go and what to say and do, lessons in discerning right-minded thinking from wrong-minded thinking, and I was told specifically what was most helpful in terms of the use of time, resources, effort, and money. This opened the way for the next phase of my mind training which was letting the Holy Spirit speak through me. It was one thing to listen and follow the Voice for God.

The next phase required willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to speak using the voice of David, and I was Given numerous assignments to practice this willingness. Jesus guided me to travel throughout the United States and Canada and speak where I was invited to speak, although the entire process felt more like being `spoken through.'

At first I took small trips to New York and Michigan. In the Summer of 1991 the trips became much longer as I set out on my first 5 ½ week journey through the Southwest of the United States and up through the Pacific Northwest (including a visit to Salt Springs Island in Canada) before returning to Cincinnati via Wisconsin and Michigan.

During the first long trip and during all subsequent trips I learned to place complete faith and trust in Jesus and the Holy Spirit to provide for my physical, emotional, and psychological needs. The development of trust was essential for me in order to release my past conditioning and beliefs about survival and safety and protection and planning.

I was learning to be God-dependent by placing my single Purpose out in front and letting the Spirit guide and direct each teaching-learning situation and every holy encounter along the path I walked. In some respects it felt as if I was living out a dream or a fairytale because each day there were so many synchronicities happening and so many apparent `solutions' appearing before any `problem' could even be defined or imagined.

The invitations and offers of help extended throughout the range of the human experience spectrum, from places to stay to food to transportation to books and music to help digging out of a snow storm and emergency road service and towing. I started traveling with no savings in the bank and no worldly investments or organizational support, only feeling impelled to share all the love in my heart and trust that everything I needed to fulfill my function would be provided by Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

After several years of living and traveling in this way I began to meet friends who wanted to share more time being around me, asking their questions and closely observing the way I lived my life to gain insight into the principles and teachings I held dear.

These friends and I began living in spiritual community, and though the names and faces have seemed to change throughout the decade that would follow, this deep feeling of community has remained with me ever since.

Now I experience this community feeling always and in all ways in my heart whether the body of David seems stationary or in motion, alone or in a small group or among hundreds of people. The Purpose I was Called to extend has stabilized my perception of the world, and a feeling of sameness pervades everything and everyone I look upon.

It is very much like a lucid dream that is very happy and calm. The serenity comes from being aware of the dreaming and not taking any of the signs and symbols personally (as if they were actual things existing in and of themselves). The unshakable peace comes from a detachment from appearances and an unswerving dedication to shared Purpose that is continuous.

Everything that seems to come into my awareness I see as Given from the Holy Spirit and Jesus. Being Source-dependent has dissolved away all sense of lack, and thus my attention is never drawn to the images of the world for the purpose of `getting' anything. The images are freed from past egoic intentions and therefore free Now to be used by the Spirit to inspire and bless and comfort in the Plan of Awakening.

There is no question or curiosity about the timing of events and no need to figure out the meaning of the world. There is no one and nothing of the world to fix or change. Being Present allows all things to be exactly as they are.

Seeming plans and logistics and details are Given as they are necessary and helpful, though there is never an emphasis on future outcomes or goals. All that is Given comes safely and surely, and each seeming step feels obvious and natural.

In 1996 I was guided to a small house in Cincinnati, Ohio to use as a quiet retreat and also as a base for launching on subsequent travels and hosting friends from around the world. Immediately the name that was Given to the house was `PeaceHouse' and the house became a symbol for always abiding in peace of mind.

The ideas and love and joy I experience in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit I share on the Internet and at many, many gatherings as time passes by without its touch upon me. As of the printing of this article I have shared at gatherings and stops and visits in 19 countries around the world and in countless holy encounters and Course In Miracles groups as well. The invitations have kept coming and so I go wherever the Spirit Guides in response to the Inner Invitation to join Given by Christ.

The gatherings I share are always very open discussions. As I go to the gatherings I have the willingness to show up in mind and to be truly helpful. I have no agenda and no clue what will be asked or if there will even be talking or not.

Instead, I make myself available to answer questions and to facilitate the expression of the Holy Spirit, which comes through many people, not just myself. People come from so many different backgrounds, cultures and languages. Sometimes I don't even speak the language, but translators show up and it seems like the Holy Spirit is orchestrating the whole thing just for me to share this state of joy and peace and happiness. I'm there to join with everyone.

Those that show up in my gatherings are showing up calling for help. I would say that the Holy Spirit is extremely practical and meets every questioner with what could be most helpful. There is no formula and there is no set answer that can be given across the board because people's consciousness and awareness have such a range.

But when I'm showing up, I truly show up to be only helpful and the Spirit flows through me. I experience joy and so does everyone else in the room. So typically, by the end of the gathering, there are lots of hugs and kisses, sometimes tears, and always a feeling of lightness and joy.

Every encounter I have is a chance to get to know me in the truest sense. What I am always teaching is that there are no private thoughts and no private minds. So the experience that I have when we gather together is of our sameness. We share the same Spirit. This is a feeling more than a group of concepts. It's still always an adventure for me to meet my Self over and over in many delightful ways. I like the spontaneity of the encounters. I like the sense of innocence that we experience together.

I always share in gatherings that there is nothing off limits. This offers a sense of openness that enables everyone to express whatever they're feeling in the moment. This is how we know ourselves. We take the lid off all our feelings and emotions. We bare our soul, and we realize we are not judged for baring our soul. People who I've met along the way feel like they can talk to me and unburden their soul no matter how shameful they feel about it.


I extend what is Given to share and thus remain aware of the I AM THAT I AM. Giving all to all is what having means, and our Heavenly Father's Kingdom is what One Mind has and what One Mind is. In the "process" sense, the more that is shared with those who seek indeed offers more to share. This is, however, the sharing that seems to occur on the horizontal plane and seems to involve the body and words and computers and smiles and hugs, etc.

Yet beyond all "process" and "level" metaphors and symbols, the experience of forgiveness is very, very, very simple! It is a Perspective that is glorious to behold, filled with gratitude and joy, for it is incapable of perceiving any differences at all. Another way of saying this is that forgiveness is devoid of any judgment of specifics, for the Perspective simply sees the false as false, or the falsity of all images.

I share this Perspective with all, for it is the only Perspective that can be shared. There is but one Dreamer of the dream, and in this Perspective all perception is already Healed.

I have no "schedule" to fit anything into. The present moment leaves no "room" for the ordering of "events, situations, and happenings." I watch a stream of past images and simply listen and follow what is Given Within, and that is the Source of all happiness, freedom, peace, and joy!

The PeaceHouse is a symbol that represents a light, happy, and very reverent state of mind. It is not special or sacred "in and of itself," for nothing exists apart from God as a separate entity "in and of itself." Yet in serving the Holy Spirit's Purpose, everyone is welcome and greeted very warmly. All are included in the Spirit's Purpose.

All are reminded of Who they Are. The Presence of God is always very apparent to a mind that is willing to receive that which God has Given forever. Teaching aids appear in many forms, and words, music, books, tapes, videos, DVDs, Cds, pamphlets, web pages, etc. serve the Plan under the Guidance of the Holy Spirit. The world is filled with "parables of hope," and this describes the PeaceHouse and the Awakening Mind ministry that were Given to extend our shared Purpose.

All is offered freely, for there is no cost to anyone. Only gain, using the "process" metaphor, is possible. The desire of the heart is all that is really required.

The Holy Spirit uses time and all the things of time to undo the belief in linear time and the separate sense of self. There is no set form, though the lesson is always the same. Forgiveness, the Perspective, is the only lesson that can be learned. Seeing the cosmos as a single tapestry is Healing, for ideas leave not their source and there is no objective material universe apart from mind. This has been called having dominion over the world, for there is no threat in images once the Dreamer is aware of dreaming.

The Communion of Silence dawns as Mind Awake. Love has no opposite. There is no choice in Being. Mind reaches to Itself, It does not go out. Within Itself It has Everything. Mind is Whole, Singular, Unified, One. The horizontal "personal perspective" dissolves in the Vertical as darkness vanishes in the Light. God is the only Cause, and nothing exists outside the Mind of God.

The world is causeless and therefore without real effects. There is no "brother," be it "self" or "other," "attempting" or "trying to reach" or "striving" in Silent Communion, for All is One and recognizes Its Oneness.

There is no "enlightened person," for the construct of "person" is impossible. There is no "communication" between persons, for there is only One Mind which knows no "betweeness. " Union is not the illusion of two-getherness, for Union is wholly of and in One Divine Mind. There could never be a "joining" of fragments, for the assumption of fragmentation has no foundation in God. Communion transcends the suggestion of "parts," the belief in fragmentation.

Father and Son, Creator and Creation are the only Real Relationship. What is the Same cannot be different, and What is One cannot have separate parts. Communion is the deepest experience of Awe and Gratitude and the Vision of Christ which lifts and replaces the veil of perception forever. An experience that ends all doubting is the experience of Silent Communion.

When symbols merge and have no distinctiveness the time for words is almost over. Words are but symbols of symbols, twice removed from Reality.

They were made as labels for attack thoughts or illusory fragments. As the impossibility of fragmentation dawns, the Name of God safely replaces all symbols. Oneness is Supreme Happiness, and as Silent Communion deepens, there is no need for words or labels.

Divine Communication is a continuous Song of Thanks that Creation sings to Creator, Who returns the Thanks. There are no levels, no layers, no categories, and no differences in Oneness. There is no problem to be solved in the Acceptance of Atonement, for the truth is true and nothing else is true! I thank God!

Spiritual community is a state of mind, and the Purpose of Atonement is witnessed to when the Purpose is held dear. By inviting Christ into one's heart one beholds the symbols of the forgiven world in a unified Purpose.

The Communion of Silence Calls, and the mind emptied of illusions and fantasies is made ready. When Jesus broke bread and drank wine with the apostles in the upper room he reminded them: "Do this in remembrance of me." In every holy encounter and within the holy instant we include our very Being in the Communion of God and Christ and Their Eternal Dance.

I am coming to Australia upon invitation, which I happily received and accepted. Our journey together now is not the way of the cross - it is the Way of the Heart. Sacrifice and deprivation are behind us now, and Joy is the abundantly Given choice available for Awakening.

Love waits on welcome and acceptance, and this is now the focus. This tour of Australia will mirror the mind's journey to the remembrance of God's Love. We will begin on the Gold Coast and journey upward toward an Easter retreat and resurrection celebration high in the Blue Mountains outside of Sydney. We ascend as One Self, the Living Christ.

In 2007 I have been hearing the theme: `Make no compromise.' The Communion of Silence Calls, and as the year unfolds I feel Called to yield ever deeper to the Call. I have stepped back from many of the functions I have extended in Purpose over the last 16 years, although I still feel a Calling to travel for some of this year.

It will be a year of witnesses to the Silence of Holy Communion. The hush of Heaven holds my heart, and our joining comes in reverence to our Creator. I think of the brothers that joined St Francis and the sisters that joined Mother Teresa and the apostles that joined Jesus in the quest for remembrance of God. There is much to celebrate this Easter and every moment of every day! Arise in Christ, as Christ, forever Christ as One Self in God's Love. Arise and rejoice that Innocence is invulnerable and unassailable, and that the time of true Freedom is at hand. Now is the time.

My friend Isira will be joining the retreat in the Blue Mountains for a day and sharing the Light and Laughter and Divine Love of the One. This Oneness transcends the roads that seem to approach It. Truth is a pathless experience that knows no opposite, far beyond the symbols of the world. Beyond east and west, male and female, young and old, beginner and advanced, you are worthy of the experience of Love Beloved Child of God.

I invite you to join in at any time, at any place, in any part of the tour - and rejoice with us! Join in the discussions along the way. Share your experiences and raise your questions. Meditate and pray with us. Share a meal with us. Climb the mountain with us. Dance and move with us. Stretch with us and expand into the Identity Which God created Forever One. This is an experience of the Awakening Mind. Everyone is included.

LESSON 77 ACIM Workbook

You are entitled to miracles because of what you are.
You will receive miracles because of what God is.
And you will offer miracles because you are one with God.
Again, how simple is salvation!
It is merely a statement of your true Identity.
It is this that we will celebrate today.
Your claim to miracles does not lie in your illusions about yourself.
It does not depend on any magical powers you have ascribed to yourself,
nor on any of the rituals you have devised.
It is inherent in the truth of what you are.
It is implicit in what God your Father is.
It was ensured in your creation, and guaranteed by the laws of God.
Today we will claim the miracles which are your right, since they belong to you.
You have been promised full release from the world you made.
You have been assured that the Kingdom of God is within you, and can never be lost.
We ask no more than what belongs to us in truth.
Today, however, we will also make sure that we will not content ourselves with less.
Begin the longer practice periods by telling yourself quite confidently that you are entitled to miracles.
Closing your eyes, remind yourself that you are asking only for what is rightfully yours.
Remind yourself also that miracles are never taken from one and given to another,
and that in asking for your rights, you are upholding the rights of everyone.
Miracles do not obey the laws of this world.
They merely follow from the laws of God.
After this brief introductory phase, wait quietly for the assurance that your request is granted.
You have asked for the salvation of the world, and for your own.
You have requested that you be given the means by which this is accomplished.
You cannot fail to be assured in this.
You are but asking that the Will of God be done.
In doing this, you do not really ask for anything.
You state a fact that cannot be denied.
The Holy Spirit cannot but assure you that your request is granted.
The fact that you accepted must be so.
There is no room for doubt and uncertainty today.
We are asking a real question at last.
The answer is a simple statement of a simple fact.
You will receive the assurance that you seek.

Our shorter practice periods will be frequent,
and will also be devoted to a reminder of a simple fact.
Tell yourself often today: I am entitled to miracles.
Ask for them whenever a situation arises in which they are called for.
You will recognize these situations.
And since you are not relying on yourself to find the miracle,
you are fully entitled to receive it whenever you ask.
Remember, too, not to be satisfied with less than the perfect answer.
Be quick to tell yourself, should you be tempted:
I will not trade miracles for grievances.
I want only what belongs to me.
God has established miracles as my right.
