They have an allstar line of world class superfood. Since I like to drink chocolate half cocoa mix with raw powder or Mars' patented Cocoapro product. I was keen to notice that one of their links promote dairy-free living.
I have heard that eating cocoa with milk will weaken the effectiveness of the flavanols.
(As for me, I even mix cocoa into coffee.) Mars is a huge company, and they dispute that allegation. It is not exactly what one would call a health food company. and they make hundreds of millions a year off of milk chocoIate. I am impressed, however, with their subdivision Mars Botanicals. They are responsible for Cirku.

I am very happy to let you know that our first book has been published!

There has been a team here, working collaboratively on projects, one of which has been transforming the original online version of Healing In Mind into a hard copy book.

The experience has been pure synergy. Everything that we needed showed up, including discovering that our friend Pam who comes over to the Peace House on a regular basis is a professional proof-reader/ editor so she jumped right in, and gave us these amazing Microsoft Word tips that saved loads of time. Jenny and I were so in sync that a few times we were working away for a couple of hours, then had the thought to speak to one another about an aspect of the project, we would stand up from our desks in our rooms, and meet each other in the hallway :-)

Following the month long Devotional with Jason and I, Sarah was guided to extend her stay in the U.S so that she could continue to work on projects and stay at Charles' house nearby to the Peace House. Finding a $56 one-way plane ticket from the U.S to her home town in Ireland made it pretty obvious that she was to stay on! Sarah used one of her amazing paintings for the cover, and Claire (who originally set up the Foundation in 1999) recently came back in contact with us and volunteered to work her text/design magic with it. The end result of our joyful collaboration is a beautiful book of such great writings – we're just thrilled! It has been such a joy to work on this together.

Dear *ACIM* Students,

It has been verified that Charles Anderson, affectionately known for
years as "Master Teacher" the guiding force of Endeavor Academy, in
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin has made his transition.

The following was from the email I received today from someone
named "Dennis"

This is the story: the old man went into the hospital in Reedsburg
last Thursday he was having trouble breathing...yesterday he had
recovered and was going to be released today and maybe make it to
session tomorrow. At the last minute he had a final seizure.. and
left. Mitch and John were with him.

Soooooooooo grateful - watched Avalon - (Al Jolson) and the Old Man
was just the Old Man. I am exploding with joy and gratitude........

Another story - M.T. was giving out 'milky way bars' at the Cheese**
after church on Sunday and introduced himself to a woman having
breakfast. When he was at the hospital - the same woman breezed into
his room and said 'Hi again Charlie - I'm your nurse!'

At the academy there is an air of ecstatic gratitude for what the Old
Man has achieved. No one believes in death anymore - we finally heard
the Old Man.

**the Cheese is the nickname for the restaurant owned and operated by
Endeavor Academy and Miracles Healing Center (CMC addition)

I (Rev. Tony Ponticello) just called Endeavor Academy to confirm that
this was indeed true. It is. I asked if there was an official
announcement and/or statement of his passing on any of their web
sites that I could quote, but I was told that there was none at this
time. The woman I spoke to thanked me for my sensitivity and I asked
if there was anything she would like to say that I could quote. She
said that I should communicate the the atmosphere at Endeavor was one
of celebration. Of course she meant celebration of a life that has
meant so much to so many who are dedicated students of *A Course In
Miracles* and who have learned from "Master Teacher's" lessons. I got
the sense that Charles Anderson had now given his final lesson to his
spiritual community and he was directly challenging them all to
perceive the unreality of death.

The following is from the Wikipedia entry on Endeavor Academy:

Endeavor Academy, founded in 1993 as the New Christian Church of Full
Endeavor of Wisconsin, is a school and residential community for
spiritual transformation. The Academy heavily utilizes a variant of
the book, A Course in Miracles, which they publish and promote.[1]
The Academy's teachings also derive from the New Testament. The
organization is headquartered in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, USA.

Leadership and founding

The founder and spiritual guide of the Endeavor Academy is Chuck
Anderson, also known as the "Master Teacher". Anderson was inspired
to establish Endeavor Academy after a pair of incidents changed his
life. In a letter to the Atomic Veteran's History Project, Anderson
describes how, with the Marines 6th Regiment, he was one of the first
to land at Nagasaki after the atomic bombing of that city in 1945,
where he was faced with a vast and overwhelming feeling of the
devastation he was witnessing:

On "one particular day", at "one particular moment in time", I found
myself standing directly in the center of this unspeakable, indeed
unthinkable, devastation that had to have been caused by someone or
something. At "that one time" I was filled with complete rage, a
wrenching, seething, frustrating, insatiable need for revenge. But
against what or whom? It had no point of location, no focus of
causation - in effect, no one to blame, no one to hold responsible.
It became a passion of intense revulsion for myself, for this world
and for any and all members of the human species - a contained
certainty from deep within me that all of us, everyone on this earth,
all were totally guilty together. And then at "that one moment in
time", the light of an inner peace enveloped me. It became "a space
in time" where a new resolution appeared, and with it, the
message, "Look at this as a new beginning."

Anderson writes that he had a second "space of peace and happiness"
in 1971 while lying on what he presumed would be his deathbed, and
reminded himself of his "mission to teach to all, a "continuing
rebirth".

In an interview with CBS News, Anderson denies having followers. He
claims to be "returning to heaven" "shortly", and says
that "everybody" is going with him. "There's nothing dangerous about
me," Anderson explains, "I am the danger of eternal love."

History and activities

Anderson first discovered ACIM ca.1989. Two years later in 1991 he
first registered the organization in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, USA under
its original name, which was "God's Country Place" (GCP). This
organization was based on many of the teachings of *ACIM*, as well as
some Biblical and AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) materials. By July of
that year it had grown from 4 to 12 residents, and by October there
were 70 residents. In 1999, Endeavor Academy had grown to accommodate
500 residents.

In 1992 the organization was registered to operate under the names;
Endeavor Academy, and New Christian Church of Full Endeavor. Around
this time, the use of the GCP name was discontinued.

Endeavor Academy's headquarters facility is a converted summer resort
facility located in an idyllic wooded setting in the Wisconsin
countryside. The original facility of 1991 was a large main house,
but in 1992 a summer resort motel complex was acquired and converted
to meet its present needs.

I, Rev. Tony, would like us all to send our love and support --
and "Yes" our energy of "celebration" to all the dedicated *ACIM*
students who live in the greater sphere of the Endeavor, Wisconsin
Dells, Wisconsin organization.

At this moment of Charles Anderson's passing I want to acknowledge
that without the hard work and enormous amount of time and financial
resources provided by his organization the copyright of *ACIM* and
the service marks "*ACIM*" and "*A Course In Miracles*" would still
be tightly held by the Foundation For Inner Peace (FIP) and the
Foundation For *ACIM* (FACIM Ken Wapnick's organization). We would
have no *ACIM - Original Edition*, no web chat rooms and web sites
that could label themselves as *A Course In Miracles Groups*, and no
teachers -- other than Ken Wapnick -- who could say that they were
teaching *A Course In Miracles" in any public way. The importance of
this contribution can not be thoroughly fathomed. It has vast and far
reaching implications for now and for the future healing of the world.

I also want to say, at this moment, I have a smile on my face in
remembrance of an OUTRAGEOUS teacher who greatly disturbed many yet,
seemingly enlightened many many more. I will always give a nod of
gratitude to the outrageous and confrontive few. Souls like these
challenge us all to look at our perceptions, our beliefs and our
attachments to them.

I give a nod of acknowledgement to Charles Anderson. He was never my
teacher, but I have a great awareness that he was THE teacher for
many dedicated, valuable *ACIM* students.

The one block to experiencing consistent Joy

Beloved One,

Blessings of Joy. I often hear people tell me that they want the experience of Peace, but they aren't aware what it is that's blocking Peace from consistent awareness. This post addresses this request. I have spoken about our Teacher of Teacher's website and about transfer of training using the ACIM Workbook. So this is the way: learn about and practice transfer of training (tot) using the (ToT) web site. This is a very, very fast approach - and very direct.

Transfer of training

The experience of joy comes to a willing mind that has given up all
attempts to make exceptions to the miracle. Only exceptions
block the awareness of ever Present miracle mindedness. Today look
at some ideas I shall offer to clarify transfer of training as
described in A Course In Miracles. This clarification will have
tremendous benefits for anyone desiring to experience the State of
Mind I call Enlightenment.

Many have heard of the teaching from the Bible in Corinthians: Love
does not possess. This world of time-space, made by the ego, is a
construct of possession. Everything and everyone that makes up
distorted perception is the result or outcome of the desire to
possess. To be free of limits of any kind, therefore, it is
imperative to expose and release the concept of possession from the
mind entirely. There is no such thing as partial forgiveness or
partial healing, and no such thing as partial possession. Either
the mind believes in possession and experiences the illusion of
imprisonment, or the mind has forgiven or released the concept of
possession and is naturally free and whole. There can be no
compromise or middle ground or balance with the release of
possession. If you believe you can actually possess anything you
have allowed your mind to be possessed by error or illusion.
Freedom is nothing more than the escape from concepts, and all ego
concepts rest on the assumption of possession. Once this error is
abandoned, all errors vanish immediately.

Think awhile on what seems to attract so much attention in the
world: the body. What plans do you make that does not involve the
comforts and conveniences and care of the body. You treat it like
it is your home, a valued treasure in a world of transient images.
Yet the body is nothing more than a temporary learning device that
you can use awhile to expand your perception beyond its current
limits. That is all. The mind can be mind free that no longer sees
itself as in a body, firmly tied to it and sheltered by its
presence. Without the concept of possession you would not believe
that you can even possess a body. Yet you believe far more than
the body as a possession, you have identified yourself with the body
and therefore see yourself as temporary and transitory. How can
there be consistency and stability at all if your identity is in
constant flux and change? And this self-concept "identity" seems to
change and be as instable as the things with which it has surrounded
itself. No stability is possible in an impossible situation, and
this world of time-space is just that an impossible situation.
Everyday the deceived and untrained mind concerns itself with
survival of the body, and the state of this mind seems often
stressful and at times angry, fearful, and guilty. Though these
conditions of mind are illusions, they seem very real to a mind that
believes in the error of possession. Possession is a synonym for
the ego, for the ego desires to get and has no awareness of True
Giving, Which is the natural attribute of Spirit. Only the mind can
be freed and it can only be freed through the peace of forgiveness
(the release of illusion). How simple is Salvation.

To experience freedom of mind trust in the Holy Spirit is a basic
requirement. Without this trust in the Holy Spirit the spiritual
journey will seem like an intellectual endeavor or an impossible
undertaking or a sorrowful, intense series of trials and
temptations. What is temptation but the wish to make illusions
real? And who will Awaken to God's eternal Love who still values
the illusions of the ego? As you answer the Call to Awaken and be
glad the Purpose of forgiveness becomes strengthened in awareness
and the need for the concerns and the dramas surrounding the body
will fade away. Thus it can accurately be said that without trust
in the Holy Spirit and devotion to this Purpose the Awakening will
seem to be delayed until there is a willingness to trust. As you
develop trust in the Holy Spirit it can accurately be said that all
perceived problems will disappear from awareness, and with
acceptance of the Atonement it is certain that "problems" will
never "return" again.

Since the topic is transfer of training our brief discussion will
eliminate aspects of this world that seem most problematic for they
are all the same. All of the aspects I will discuss are based on
the concept of possession, and therefore the Answer or Solution will
always be as simple as the release of this erroneous concept. Trust
in the Holy Spirit undoes the concept of possession, and as
possession dissolves away only the Light of Spirit remains in
awareness. The Light of the Spirit simply Is, so when the obstacles
have been removed the Light shines unobstructed in awareness. The
Light of Love is perfect Oneness, and there is nothing lacking or
incomplete in perfect Oneness. This is the Unity and Purity of
Heart that Christ radiates forever Being God's Love.

In the time-space cosmos this Love has been temporarily forgotten
and pushed out of awareness. The sleeping mind has therefore
experienced a kind of amnesia about the Kingdom of Heaven and seems
preoccupied with bodies, environment, food, clothing, shelter,
entertainment, competition, betterment, pleasure, attack, economic
advancement, education, and striving for progress or destruction in
a variety of ways and forms. These pursuits leave the mind mired in
an unnaturally stressful state that is highly busy and exceptionally
unproductive. Productivity and Creativity are synonymous, yet the
makings and the strivings of the ego have nothing to do with true
Creativity. The imaginations and goals of the ego are all of linear
time-space and serve only to perpetuate the illusion of linear time-
space.

The linear time-space cosmos of distortion is a game. The only way
the game becomes consistently happy is when you allow the Holy
Spirit to Interpret the game from the lofty Perspective of non-
judgment. Possession is a belief (the ego) which seemed to set the
game of time-space in motion. The game cannot be won or lost. The
game can only be forgiven or Observed in a beneficent way. The game
is in the mind, though the ego projects a world which seems to be
the game. It is not. The game cannot be forgiven or Observed
Correctly until you realize that the game is in the mind. Economics
are therefore in the mind. Sexuality is in the mind. War is in the
mind. Competition, attack, defense, education, entertainment,
pleasure, suffering, bodies, striving, etc. are all games that the
sleeping mind is toying with. The game of time-space is only a game
in the mind and has no reality whatsoever. It is a game of belief
and has no real Substance or Spirit. The only thing necessary to be
free of the linear time-space game is to stop playing the game and
trust in the Holy Spirit for absolutely everything. Absolutely
everything. If you open to experiencing the Holy Spirit as the
Provider you can open to experiencing our Self as Christ as God as
the Creator. The Way is very simple, and it is only the ego that
obscures the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

I dedicated my "life" to experiencing the peace that passeth the
understanding of the world. It has turned out wonderful. The whole
world is now a miracle to me, and it feels like a happy fairytale.
Drama has been replaced by Certainty, striving has been replaced by
rest, depression and boredom have been replaced by joy and freedom,
loneliness has been replaced by intimacy of shared Purpose, and I am
happily in Love with God and everything and everyOne. So peacefully
Present am I, there is no longer an expectation that people, places,
events, or things be any different than they Are. By Grace I live
in the Heart of God, serenely unaffected by the journey that never
was. "How" did this awareness seem to happen? I trust the Holy
Spirit absolutely. The Holy Spirit is the "How," the means and the
End together as One. There is nothing left to search for, nothing
left to attain. There is no problem to solve and nowhere to go.
There is nothing left to do. Enlightenment is a Present experience.

The Experience Beyond Theology - The concept of theology has only temporary value as a "stepping stone" to the Awakening Experience. The Text of ACIM is intended to make the Workbook lessons more meaningful yet it is application of the lessons (without making exceptions) that is the key to the transformation of consciousness or the happy dream. The goal is true forgiveness and theology must be laid aside for this Experience to occur in awareness.

Letting Go and Trusting - Follow your heart on a journey of discovery. Listen to the Voice within and do what It says, even if it sometimes doesn't make sense according to what you believe are your "personal" best interests.

A Prayer For Us - We are joined in Purpose or Content and "joining in form" is a meaningless concept.

Sex and Spirituality: Do they go together? - A long answer to one of the issues that is not specifically addressed in the Course.

Relationships: Lack, Completion and Ownership - KEY - (MP3 27:23mins 37.6MB) - Completion is your inheritance. Wanting a partner, to be with a body, is seeking for completion in form. Yearning for companionship is a distorted miracle impulse. When the mind is attracted to one person over another the equality of the Sonship is obscured. The right mind sees that personal love and impersonal love do not go together. The way out of the loop of seeking for specialness is to desire only to be truly helpful. The deceived mind has a very deep rooted belief in scarcity, lack, unworthiness and guilt. Expectations come from the belief in lack and incompletion. Extending and giving have nothing to do with specifics. Having and being are the same. Giving and receiving are the same.

Opening to the Experience of Real Relationship - How do you define relationship? This is a beginning point in dissolving the disillusionment and dissatisfaction you experience. Are you aware of all of the unconscious assumptions and definitions you hold about the concepts of relationship in your mind? Do you have any idea of the hold these concepts exert on your experiences of this world? First we must take a look at how you have defined relationship, for your experiences of the world result from your beliefs and concepts and thoughts about yourself and the world.

The Secret Dream - KEY - (MP3 29:50mins 40.9MB) - Discussion about dreaming, seeing and exposing the false belief in separation. Right mind is a present decision. The thinker and the thoughts are the same, the perceived gap/separation between the perceiver and the perceived is the wrong mind. The right mind sees the gap as false and sees that the perceived world comes from the belief in separation. Exposing the gap/the belief in separation is the undoing of the ego seeing its impossibility is the healing. Purpose is the only choice and all strain comes from compromising, attempting to live in two worlds. Beliefs are dissolved when they are deeply questioned and judgment is seen as impossible. The ego's definition of life is the birth and death of the body on a grand scale this is the big bang and impending implosion it is all part of dreaming. Ideas about good and evil are all part of dreaming.

Beyond the Subject / Object split - KEY - (MP3 25:59mins 35.7MB) - Everything is a present moment decision. Becoming miracle-minded is a metaphor for the mind that believes in linear time. The metaphor of right mind and wrong mind is helpful but like all metaphors, it is to be released. Desire the holy instant above all else. The wrong mind believes in bodies and the illusion of attack. Right mind and wrong mind are not at war the right mind watches and the wrong mind projects the illusion of attack. Past thoughts of the self are images. All perceptions of duality are seen with the wrong mind it sees differences. The right mind is a reflection of reality it sees everything as the same. There is no causation in the world, images are images. There is only one miracle, it is the atonement. There is one holy instant, one holy encounter, one holy relationship. Everything collapses in the instant. Cause and effect are one, time is simultaneous.

Opening to the Dreamer of the Dream Perspective - KEY - (MP3 43:09mins 59.2MB) - ACIM the book, and words, are symbols; they are the past. What is causative is desire. Parables and teaching sessions are the Holy Spirit's use of the past, to point to what is beyond. Words can be used to ask meaningful questions and open the mind. Inward questioning leads to a point of taking a leap into Certainty. There is no questioning in Certainty - Christ is not a questioner. The experience comes by desire, at first through miracles (glimpses). Time is to be questioned; the ego uses it to maintain guilt, keeping the mind closed. Accepting the atonement involves looking at assumptions and mistaken beliefs that are in the way of the experience.

Reversing Effect and Cause; Getting to the Bottom of the Belief in Linear Time - The idea of `cause and effect' is an essential element of the metaphysics outlined by A Course In Miracles. Questioning the Reality of Debts and Reciprocity - KEY - (MP3 8:51mins ) - A stepping stone to begin to tracing back inward from identification with the world and the body is to seem to pay off debts in form. The laws of reciprocity, exchange, and the reality of debts are to be questioned, which leads to realizing that there is an association with personhood. The world is the means, and provides evidence of beliefs in the mind. Concepts are to be released and a retranslation occurs. This seems to be a process until the leap is taken. There is no debt in the real world, or in Heaven.

Time, Space and Personhood - KEY - (MP3 1:19:26mins 89.4MB) - This advanced discussion goes deeply into the major topic areas of ACIM including ordering thought, right mind/wrong mind, cause and effect, linear time and hypothetical thinking, the subject-object split, and the immediacy of salvation. The immediacy of salvation is to see that everything is thought. Time and space are of one illusion. Every memory is a thought. If projected beyond the mind and seen in terms of personhood, thoughts are described in terms of time. Discernment is the key to seeing that "I Am the Right Mind!" The wrong mind is dissolved in this realization. The right mind is a constant state. Vacillation is a metaphor; there is only the right mind. "I am wholly mind" is not believed and so all false beliefs are to be questioned to come to the experience of being Mind. It is a metaphor to say that the ego exists or even to say that it could be resistant or resilient. The ego is a present decision as is the Holy Spirit. The right mind is a state where there is no ordering of thought/of images. It is practical to see cause and effect are not apart. This is a state of rest, of peace; there is nothing to attain or strive for, no future goals or outcomes. Only present peace and joy. Mysticism is realizing that there is no gap between time and space, no gap between cause and effect; there is no personhood and there is no subject-object split.

The 'Hero' of the Dream - A transcribed dialogue on some of the deepest core ideas of the Course, done in a very practical and comprehensive way. "And so you wander idly in and out of places and events that it contrives. That this is all the body does is true, for it is but a figure in a dream. But who reacts to figures in a dream unless he sees them as if they were real? The instant that he sees them as they are they have no more effects on him, because he understands he gave them their effects by causing them and making them seem real. How willing are you to escape effects of all the dreams the world has ever had? Is it your wish to let no dream appear to be the cause of what it is you do?"

Levels of Mind (Selections from A Course in Miracles)- The world you see is a reflection of your desire. Map the levels of mind from desire, belief, thought, emotion and perception. The Holy Spirit consistently brings everything perceived on the screen back to the mind, where it can be seen as what it is: the out-picturing of the mind's false thoughts/beliefs. The Holy Spirit sees only wholeness, all things working together for good, and only two orders of thought: love or a call for love. When the Holy Spirit's thought system has the mind's allegiance, it is at peace, and peace of mind is the goal of life. In a state of sleep or mindlessness, perception is very unreliable and changes continually. In a state of alertness or mindfulness, there is awareness of and detachment from "ego" thoughts and mind sees everything and everyone differently. As mind changes, perception changes, and the world is seen differently from the way it was seen before.

Purpose is the Only Choice - This dialogue (which takes place between the Speaker and several friends) begins with an expression of restlessness which is a subtle form of upset or simply not being at peace. This provides a starting point for tracing the specific upset back to its source, the deceived mind, where perception is corrected by the choice of a new purpose.

Only the Truth is True - Nothing said about the Truth is true as no idea of this world is wholly true. The truth is beyond all concepts and images.

Rest in Me - Ask only this: Will I fulfill the function given me? What else is there to ask? Why must I know the form in which the answer comes to me? God answers, "Yes" and it is done. No more than this is meaningful to you.

There were many teaching learning opportunities that arose around these resources even then. The first part of this dialogue is about preferences, ordering of thought and the belief that I am the author of reality leads to frustration. When frustrated, there is no awareness of being the dreamer of the dream. It takes great effort to train the mind and release the "doer". There is no way to wake up with out being attentive. If you say you want to wake up, then you must be grateful when inattentivenes is pointed out even if it there is a temptation to perceive an attack. Everything that seems to be done is always a backdrop for mind training, done in the spirit of love.

Preferences are a hierarchy of illusions. To order thoughts is to believe in the wrong mind. When the mind sees that ordering thoughts offers nothing of value it can become set on purpose. Preferences may seem miniscule but they are to be questioned. The dreamer of the dream perspective cannot judge or order thoughts. This perspective is the desire to be truly helpful.
Living in Community - Demands vs. Requests (MP3 40:51mins 56MB) - The ego's purpose for the world is to see the cause of upset out in the world and it uses situations to defend its position / its reality. Before being able to accept the atonement one has to see oneself as the dreamer of the dream. Beliefs are decisions that are pushed out of awareness.

"One of the ego's biggest tricks it does not want you to know about, because if you know about this trick and you raise it into awareness then you no longer fall for it.
That is a fast way to wake up to divine love - not falling for tricks.
This trick is a game or a scheme. Now if this world were only pain and suffering and hurt and tragedy, wouldn't it be easy to drop?
Yes it would.
If everything burned, you could drop it like a hot potato and boom, its back to the Kingdom of Heaven and Nirvana.
But the ego disguises itself, and as everyone knows in this world, there are a lot of things that seem to be very attractive. It's like fool's gold, and that's what makes it very sneaky.
That's the trick. If you could see it, you would drop it in an instant. But the ego uses the duality of pain and pleasure. In fact, in this world they seem to be very, very different.
In this world there are whole philosophies built around the idea that we should maximize the pleasure and minimize the pain. And the ego is never going to tell you one thing: They are the same. They are identical. Pleasure and Pain are identical.

Now on the surface when you first start to look at this, Jesus talks about this in ACIM, its’ a big trick. It takes a lot of faith to say, okay, I'm listening, how are you going to explain this one to me.
It sounds pretty profound but it doesn't feel that way.
Everyone who has experienced the pleasures and the pains will say, 'I think I can tell the difference between pleasure and pain.'
He says, “No you can't.”
You are in such a state of mind in this world that you are so confused that you can't even tell the difference between pain and joy.
That's pretty confused. In fact, he says that pleasure is part of a flip side, the trick from the ego, that is actually called the attraction to guilt.
In other words the ego can make the guilt so attractive that you keep going for it. You keep grabbing for it, over and over. In linear time you keep falling for the trick. You keep getting stuck in its game, and that's what the ego wants you to do. It wants you to get stuck in its universe.

So, I use the example of Marilyn Monroe (gorgeous in terms of body, sex appeal, fame, money, famous husbands, . . she even had the President of the U.S. lusting after her -- John F. Kennedy).
Now from the world's perspective she had everything. But she was depressed, suicidal. Years later Elton John would write a song about her (Candle In The Wind) about how sad and lonely this woman actually was. This is a very good example of the ego's teachings in the mind. You will come to a place that you will think, kinda like Pinocchio, going to Pleasure Island, 'I don't have to go to school, I don't have to be responsible for anything, I can have fun all day with all the other boys on Pleasure Island.' And what happens?
It turns into a really horrific experience. This is a little parable for the whole human race.

Now on the surface of things we could look at this metaphysically and say, 'how is this working?' How did the ego devise this sneaky trick to keep us all feeling guilty and stuck on planet earth or in time and space and keep us forgetting what our eternal reality is. That the world was made as a distraction.

Remember I said that in separation there were these two thought systems, fear and love. I
t was an intolerable conflict to try to believe in both, to try to hold both fear and love in the mind. So the world, the cosmos, was an attempt to throw the guilt, the conflict out into time and space to relieve the tension. So instead of feeling this terrible feeling of 'oh my God, I’ve done a terrible thing I’ve separated from God, I’ve ripped my mind away from God' which is a horrific idea, the ego made up time and space as a way to dilute it (so it's not so horrific as one terrible instant). 'Let's spread it out over a millennium.

“Little tiny bits of pains and pleasures over millions and millions of years.'

Almost like (for example) if someone took a tiny drop of poison they were going to give you (we are talking really potent poison) and they said 'I'm going to give you a drop of this poison, and you must drink of this poison, that is the only condition.
Now you can decide how you want to take it, but you've got to take it.' You could say, 'okay, put the drop....in the ocean over there, and i'll take a drink of the ocean.' You see how it would kind of dilute it a little bit?
That is what the ego tried to do, it tried to make up a world of time and space so it could dilute the guilt of believing that the separation from God was possible so you would be stuck in this little human body and seemingly dealing with this for lifetimes, and meanwhile the ego never tells you the secret - that pain and pleasure are the same illusion.

In fact Jesus says why they are the same: they both reinforce the reality of the body as your identity, because they are dualistic.

Now Joy, or Love, or Peace: these are natural States of Mind that don't have anything to do with the pains or pleasures of this world.

That is your natural inheritance that has been covered over by all of this dualism. So I have to say that in my life when people think about going on the spiritual journey, one of the things that scares people the most (you've heard about the lives of the mystics and saints, saint john of the cross and the dark night of the soul and starving and fasting and penance and all this stuff) is that it doesn't sound very attractive.
It's much easier to just have a life that seems to have a mixture of things. But what I am saying is that when you go into working miracles, which is what A Course In Miracles is about, it gets you in touch with your Purpose, which is the joy.
And that has to take over to the point that you are not going to fall into the tricks of pain/pleasure, pain/pleasure, which is purely seeking for a satisfaction, which is,... what can we say about pain and pleasure? One thing we can say is that they are temporary, they come in little bits and pieces and there is no lasting satisfaction (i.e., when you have a particular food, or a particular sexual encounter, or you see a particular experience in the climate or the world or whatever).
It's very transitory, and then the ego says, 'okay, now you've got to go back for it again ...go again and again and again.'
And all of us know that it just doesn't satisfy you. You end up feeling like there's got to be more. Like the old Peggy Lee song ("Is That All There Is?").
Everybody in this world sings that tune at some point."

Beloved One,

Blessings of Happiness. I am Guided to share some ideas about the
'spiritual community' topic that has been receiving lots of attention
lately:

Often I am asked what it is like to live in 'spiritual community,' and
I say that it is truly a State of Mind and nothing else. Through the
ego's lens there appears to be bodies that come and go and details and
logistics that seem to require care and attention, but from a healed
Perspective everything is like a smooth, free flowing Dance.

'Spiritual community' is all about the attitude of Communion with
God. It is about devotion and reverence and willingness, and
everything Flows in the miracle. Among my holy encounters this
month on the phone, on Skype, through e-mails, and with the people who
are living here on the east coast of Australia, I feel carried on the
Wings of Peace. It is an honor and a Pure Joy!

EveryOne wants to feel connected and loved, and to have a feeling of
belongingness and wholeness. Every day, every hour, every minute,
even every moment, there are many, many opportunities to give, to
extend that which is All Value & Meaning. The Holy Spirit gives
whatever seems to be needed at any given moment. The Love radiates
to everyOne and everything in the universe. There is a deep feeling
of acceptance and all-inclusiveness in the miracle. Many times people
ask: "How will this play out in form?" The form, whatever it appears
to be, must be perceived from the Flow, from the miracle's
Perspective, to be experienced as whole.

Jesus taught: "Freely you have received, now freely give." This
statement is symbolic of our shared Purpose of learning to give as God
Gives. How does this unfold in a practical way. It is very simple.
We live simple, devotional lives, trusting completely on Divine
Providence. This means we are supported entirely by donations / love
offerings and all support is seen as Given by the Holy Spirit / God.
All offerings are accepted with deep gratitude and used to continue
the work of the Holy Spirit in shining the Light and sharing the
message of Christ throughout the world. We live in spiritual
community and I have shared that really this "community" is of the
heart and it is wholly inclusive. There is nothing special about
bodies coming together in form but the symbol can be used in a very
helpful and supportive way, in addition to being an acceleration or
speed-up for healing and thus undoing the ego.

The ego is afraid of commitment and so coming together with a devotion
to Purpose, a commitment to exposing and releasing the ego, is a very
helpful step towards accepting the Atonement. Atonement is a total
commitment. Regarding living in community, the Purpose must come
first and be held in mind at all times, for then the symbols of form
are always Given by the Holy Spirit. This sense of form following or
flowing from Purpose feels natural, obvious, and flows in Divine Ease.
To lead with the form is to lose sight of the Purpose since leading
with the form involves focusing on the needs of the body and ego
preferences. With Purpose out front there are no perceived problems,
for problems only seem to arise when Purpose has been forgotten.

Enlightenment is the undoing of the make believe self concept of the
ego, of pride, of preferences, of possession, and of ownership. The
Holy Spirit takes us gently by the hand, leading us step by step
as we deepen in our trust, and deepen in our commitment to hearing
only the Voice for God. Thus we release the mistaken belief that
anyone could be sustained by any Source other than God. And along the
way Jesus taught me and showed me the reality of Divine Providence.
Seventeen years ago I took Jesus up on it. Suddenly a whole new world
appeared in awareness with a sense of fearlessness, a joy in following
the inner prompts, and a rejoicing in every symbol of coming Home.

After several years of living and traveling in this way I began to
meet friends who wanted to share more time being around me, asking
their questions and closely observing the way I lived my life to gain
insight into the principles and teachings I held dear. These friends
and I began living in spiritual community, and though the names and
faces have seemed to change throughout the decade that would follow,
this deep feeling of community has remained with me ever since. Now I
experience this community feeling always and in all ways in my heart
whether the body of David seems stationary or in motion, alone or in a
small group or among hundreds of people. The Purpose I was Called to
extend has stabilized my perception of the world, and a feeling of
sameness pervades everything and everyone I look upon. It is very much
like a lucid dream that is very happy and calm. The serenity comes
from being aware of the dreaming and not taking any of the signs and
symbols personally (as if they were actual things existing in and of
themselves). The unshakable peace comes from a detachment from
appearances and an unswerving dedication to shared Purpose that is
continuous.

Everything that seems to come into my awareness I see as Given from
the Holy Spirit and Jesus. Being Source-dependent has dissolved away
all sense of lack, and thus my attention is never drawn to the images
of the world for the purpose of 'getting' anything. The images are
freed from past egoic intentions and therefore free Now to be used by
the Spirit to inspire and bless and comfort in the Plan of Awakening.
There is no question or curiosity about the timing of events and no
need to figure out the meaning of the world. There is no one and
nothing of the world to fix or change. Being Present allows all things
to be exactly as they are. Seeming plans and logistics and details are
Given as they are necessary and helpful, though there is never an
emphasis on future outcomes or goals. All that is Given comes safely
and surely, and each seeming step feels obvious and natural.

In 1996 I was guided to a small house in Cincinnati, Ohio to use as a
quiet retreat and also as a base for launching on subsequent travels
and hosting friends from around the world. Immediately the name that
was Given to the house was 'PeaceHouse' and the house became a symbol
for always abiding in peace of mind. The ideas and love and joy I
experience in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit I share on the Internet
and at many, many gatherings as time passes by without its touch upon
me. I have shared at gatherings and stops and visits in 21 countries
around the world and in countless holy encounters and Course In
Miracles groups as well. The invitations have kept coming and so I go
wherever the Spirit Guides in response to the Inner Invitation to join
Given by Christ.

The gatherings I share are always very open discussions. As I go to
the gatherings I have the willingness to show up in mind and to be
truly helpful. I have no agenda and no clue what will be asked or if
there will even be talking or not. Instead, I make myself available to
answer questions and to facilitate the expression of the Holy Spirit,
which comes through many people, not just myself. People come from so
many different backgrounds, cultures and languages. Sometimes I don't
even speak the language, but translators show up and it seems like the
Holy Spirit is orchestrating the whole thing just for me to share this
state of joy and peace and happiness. I'm there to join with everyone.
Those that show up in my gatherings are showing up calling for help. I
would say that the Holy Spirit is extremely practical and meets every
questioner with what could be most helpful. There is no formula and
there is no set answer that can be given across the board because
people's consciousness and awareness have such a range. But when I'm
showing up, I truly show up to be only helpful and the Spirit flows
through me. I experience joy and so does everyone else in the room. So
typically, by the end of the gathering, there are lots of hugs and
kisses, sometimes tears, and always a feeling of lightness and joy.

Every encounter I have is a chance to get to know me in the truest
sense. What I am always teaching is that there are no private thoughts
and no private minds. So the experience that I have when we gather
together is of our sameness. We share the same Spirit. This is a
feeling more than a group of concepts. It's still always an adventure
for me to meet my Self over and over in many delightful ways. I like
the spontaneity of the encounters. I like the sense of innocence that
we experience together. I always share in gatherings that there is
nothing off limits. This offers a sense of openness that enables
everyone to express whatever they're feeling in the moment. This is
how we know ourselves. We take the lid off all our feelings and
emotions. We bare our soul, and we realize we are not judged for
baring our soul. People who I've met along the way feel like they can
talk to me and unburden their soul no matter how shameful they feel
about it.

Our sole Purpose is Awakening, which is the undoing of the ego, and so
we are guided by the Holy Spirit within, and we never lead with the
form. Jesus teaches that nothing the world believes is true and that
every belief held in the mind must be questioned and undone, in order
to be shown what reality is. It is not of this world. Living in
Purpose is abstract, it involves being highly intuitive and it
involves a deep devotion to mind training.

Although it can be helpful for those new to mind training to have some
structure / routine to come together to discuss what is coming up to
be healed and released, conforming to set rules & routines dissolves
the deeper one goes into Mysticism. Jesus teaches that no two people
see the same world, which is why there is no universal agreement upon
anything. The only solid foundation is a deep, shared Purpose with
trust and willingness to unlearn all concepts - including those of
family, authority, work, life-style, use of time, use of resources etc.

We live as Jesus did, traveling where invited without expectations of
reciprocity. We are not interested in growing or building anything -
these concepts have been dissolved. Purpose is a full time devotion
and it can look different for everyone. With unfolding peace house
communities in the United States, Sweden, Belgium, and Australia it is
important to realize that there is no central authority or unifying
structure with any of them. The Spirit directs the way and each
seeming spiritual community unfolds through intuitive Guidance
received by the founders and the participants. I am always happy to
offer teaching-learning resources and materials for these communities,
and these are to be disbursed freely and on a donation basis.

As for Guidelines, I received the following from the Holy Spirit to
assist the developing spiritual communities:

A Guide to Spiritual Practice with Awakening Mind

The Holy Spirit offers this 10 step Guide that can be used as a
Guideline for spiritual practice. The focus is expressing Divine
Principle in action:

1. Volunteers- Awakening Mind does not involve the concept of
membership and therefore relies entirely upon volunteers for every
aspect of the ministry. Volunteers receive no financial compensation
and no perks or tangible rewards for their devotion to Awakening. The
benefits given & received are entirely Spiritual & always purely and
simply a State of Mind.

2. Non-profit- Awakening Mind is completely non-profit. The Purpose
for the ministry is experiencing Present Inner Peace through
forgiveness and thus there is no incentive to grow larger or attain
money or power or possessions or property. Present peace is content
with the Present Moment and therefore unconcerned with the past or
future.

3. Intuitive- Awakening Mind encourages everyone to develop intuitive
listening to their Inner Guide and to trust and depend upon this
Guidance for decisions in everyday living. How one feels is a
barometer for discerning that which is intuitively helpful, and peace
is its own reward.

4. Divine Providence- Awakening Mind nurtures the awareness and
experience that trust would settle every problem now. Trust in the
Holy Spirit & Christ is the means Given by God to Answer every seeming
problem that arises in perception. Participants in the ministry are
always referred and directed to the Voice for God within and toward
the recognition that God is the Creator & Source & Provider.

5. Non-judgment- All comparisons & opinions & assumptions naturally
give way to Intuitive Guidance as a practical Alternative to conflict.
Guidance is always respected and following Inner Guidance is always
encouraged. The outcome of listening to and following the Holy Spirit
& Christ is always peace, love, happiness, freedom, & joy. There need
not be any exceptions to trusting Inner Guidance and living a life of
integrity and honesty and harmony.

6. Generosity- To give is to receive. Awakening Mind honors the Divine
Law of Love. Freely you have received, now freely give. Giving is an
attitude that extends Love and continuously receives and experiences
Love extending. Love knows no lack or scarcity or deprivation. Love is
an Abundant State of Mind that is whole and completely Shared.

7. No private thoughts- Awakening Mind is the experience of Union, a
Unified Mind in which there is no secret kept apart from Spirit.
Everything is openly revealed in the Light of Truth. Love has nothing
to hide and is forever openly revealed exactly As It Is. Only the
Thoughts of God can be shared, and there is nothing else to share.

8. No people pleasing- Awakening Mind advocates always following Inner
Guidance and accepting complete responsibility for one's state of
mind. Conformity to `external authority' or unconscious beliefs is
never authentic or helpful on the spiritual journey. The laws of the
land need not be broken if one follows the Inner Guidance of the Holy
Spirit, and impeccable integrity is the certain outcome of yielding to
the Holy Spirit for all decisions. `Holy Spirit decide for God for me'
is our constant prayer of gratitude, and it is very practical. This
yielding to the Spirit offers immediate results.

9. No control over the world- With total responsibility for one's
state of mind also comes the realization that there is nothing to
control in this world. The Observer is One with everything and now all
things are perfect exactly As Is. Atonement is a state of perfect
Acceptance. Such is the happy dream of forgiveness, the forgiven world.

10. Peaceful Experience- Awakening Mind is an experience that
transcends all specific concepts. Divine Silence simply Is. Simply do
this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what
God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you
hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either
true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and
all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring
with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever
learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course,
and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.

It feels like the years to come will see the symbol of spiritual
community used by the Holy Spirit to experience complete forgiveness
of the dream of separation. In the coming years the Messengers of
Peace plan to visit spiritual communities in North America, South America, Europe, and Australia/South Pacific, where and when there is a strong Call to forgive and Awaken. The visits will most often be longer than the travels and talks and workshops and repeats of the past 17 years, and offer many moment to moment, day to day opportunities to put the Purpose into practice in a very direct, effective way.

I hope to meet with you and your community as it unfolds, and rejoice
together in the Love of God as obstacles to Love are exposed and

PRAYER IS THE MEANS BY WHICH GOD'S SON LEAVES SEPARATE GOALS AND SEPARATE INTERESTS BY, AND TURNS IN HOLY GLADNESS TO THE TRUTH OF UNION IN HIS FATHER AND HIMSELF.

RUNGS DISTINCTIONS BETWEEN PRAYERS EXAMPLE OF PRAYER

Being the Prayer Now prayer is lifted from the world of things, of bodies, and of gods of every kind, and we rest in holiness at last. There is no asking, for there is no lack. We are transformed, for we recognize the Christ in ourselves. (We are that which we have prayed for.) Prayer is now the single voice Creator and creation share. I cannot go without you, for you are a part of me.
(With this prayer, we stand at the gate of Heaven.)

Praying With Others
(Continuing to rise: Now it is possible to help in prayer, and so reach up yourself)
We are enemies no more. In praying with others, we share a goal. Yet it is likely, at first, that what is asked for even by those who join in prayer is not the goal that prayer should truly seek. Even together you may ask for things, and thus set up but an illusion of a goal you share. You may ask together for specifics and not realize that you are asking for effects without the cause. Even the joining, then, is not enough, if those who prayer together do not ask, before all else, what is the Will of God. (This, then, is praying with others, asking for the Will of God.) We go together, you and I.

Praying for Others
(Beginning to rise: Until this second level at least begins, one cannot share in prayer.)
Praying for others, if rightly understood, becomes a means for lifting your projections of guilt from your brother, and enabling you to recognize it is not he who is hurting you. The poisonous thought that he is your enemy, your evil counterpart, your nemesis, must be relinquished before you can be saved from guilt (to be saved from guilt is to recognize that our brother is not our enemy). For this, the means is prayer. What I have asked for for my brother is not what I would have. Thus have I made of him my enemy.

Praying Out Of Need
(lowest rung)
There are two asking-out-of-need prayers:

The lowest of the two forms is prayer about wanting; prayer that comes out of a sense of scarcity and lack. Often, this prayer does not make an appeal to God or even involve Him.
The next to the lowest prayer is a higher form of asking out of need. The asking may be addressed to God in honest belief but without understanding. It asks for things of this world and also for such gifts as honesty and goodness, and for forgiveness. At this same level, we have prayers for one's enemies, but our belief in enemies means we have limited prayer to the laws of this world. Praying for enemies suggests "otherness" and the Course recommends we pray for ourselves.

Providence is the natural state of the mind.

How much does your Father love you? It is infinite; we are truly
loved by the whole Universe. That immense Love has no limits, no
boundaries, no restrictions, and no exceptions. That Love is within
us waiting to be discovered, to be found and enjoyed. How do I know
this? There's a daily life example in my life that taught me a lot
about Divine Providence. I have a one year old son. He started to use
a fork for eating a month ago. He was very proud that he could eat on
his own. So I stopped helping him with eating, and I always
congratulate him when he shows me how well he eats with his new
plastic fork. But if he could hurt himself, I'll help him even before
he could call me.

Picture yourself as a child. God is your father and mother, and even
more; he's your best friend. Whatever you can do and you want to do
by your own, God is not going to interfere -unless you do harm to
yourself. So, if you love doing your job, just do it, go on, there's
no need to think of Divine Providence. But what if you feel depressed
because you found that in this world all efforts are the same, and
all efforts keep us separate from the Love of God?

The journey to God is a journey without path. It isn't even a
journey, just a Realization. In this Realization the first step is to
observe that we don't accept ourselves. We always want to be better
people. A great proof of this is the time we spend thinking of the
past or the future. Think of someone you really love - are you
thinking of their past or future? Or when you think of that person do
you embrace the happy moments shared together?

Many seekers of the truth around the world want to become Jesus
Christ, but the "becoming" is the cause of our suffering. We are
perfect just the way we are, whatever we have done in the past and
whatever our thoughts are. In this acceptance, the Light is able to
make us remember the Eternal truth of who we are. Saint Francis' case
is a great illustration of accepting oneself and experiencing Divine
Providence as a consequence. He shouted in the park, after having a
fight with his biological father, what he thought about himself. He
said in front of many people all his opinions about himself. He said:
I'm a drunk, I'm lustful, I'm a thief, I'm a hypocrite, etc. He was
defenseless. He gave all his negative thoughts to the Spirit. He
didn't hide his dark side anymore. He didn't try to be someone else,
exposing his thoughts in front of so many people. So it was very easy
for God to help him. It's very easy for the Grace to transform us
when we accept ourselves, when we don't protect the illusions. Our
main problem is that we want to hide our dark side from the Light. We
always defend our opinions from the Divine Help. In every judgment we
have the chance to call God, who always answers our prayers, always.

Saint Francis' story is great to realize that we want to become
saints before accepting ourselves. It's impossible! Francis took off
his masks in front of the people of his own town, where he had lived
for his entire life, and then he became enlightened. Our masks are
made of private thoughts. We have many thoughts we don't want to give
to the Holy Spirit to heal. And the Holy Spirit is always there for
us. When we're not peacefully living the Present Moment, it's a
great opportunity to call for help. The same happens when we do not
perceive the abundance in which God created us.

We can trust God for EVERYTHING; exceptions are not good for us. I
lived near the Andes Mountains in a small Village in the South of Argentina.
I was there for five weeks. The first two weeks I had
little money for survival, and the rest I had no money. That was the
biggest treasure God gave me to meet his Eternal Love. I was pushed
to trust Him for absolutely EVERYTHING. I was living 1500 km away
from my family and friends. Waking up every morning was a divine
adventure. I couldn't spend much time with the distractions of the
ego (complaining, criticizing, trying to change the outside world,
and defending from the attacks it perceives). So I had to listen to
the Voice of Love within. I asked God every morning: "God, what do I
do now?" And then the Voice guided me for absolutely everything. I
didn't ask anyone for help those days. All I received was naturally
offered to me. The Voice of Love said: go over there, turn right,
turn left, stay there for a while, do that thing, and so on. I met
the people I needed; I was invited to have breakfast, lunch, dinner
and even more. I enjoyed "Birthday cakes", which I like eating very
much. I could have felt desperate, lonely, or sad. I hadn't enough
time for that. I had to submerge into the deepest experience of
Divine Guidance I have ever had.

Extreme experiences are great because the ego always plays and plays
the distraction game. It's so tricky. The ego's last game is the
spiritual one. It disguises itself as a spiritual seeker and makes
you read and be interested in many spiritual teachers and teachings,
but it will do whatever it can to keep you away from having your own
encounter with God.

That's why it's so important to develop our relationship with God. If
not we'll be spiritual seekers forever and ever - trying to be
saints, pushing ourselves to forgive "others" instead of finding the
innocence within, attending infinite workshops to be a "better
person," and all the while never having our own experience of God.
Besides, how can we forgive others if we condemn ourselves? What is
that idea of "being better"? We judge ourselves for our addictions,
we judge ourself for our relationships, and we judge ourselves for
not being that beautiful person we think we should be.

Talk to God about your dark side, about all the things you don't like
about yourself and those you share your life with. You'll feel great.
The best relationship with God is friendship. You'll feel confident
to talk about your secrets with God if you consider God your best
friend. Once you realize you are the perfect Child of God, and
everything in this world means big efforts without God's help, you'll
trust God for EVERYTHING. THIS IS DIVINE PROVIDENCE . It's not about
not being useful or helpful, it's not about not doing anything, it's
not about being lazy - it's about trusting God for your survival in
this world. And God is going to guide you.

Sometimes we feel God is not helping us and it is exactly the
opposite. As with the example of the baby and the fork - sometimes we
are hurting ourselves and we can't realize it, but God helps us even
before we call. Maybe you lost your job and you are angry because of
that. I'm sure that it is for good, because maybe you were doing
something you didn't like. Or maybe your husband or wife is gone and
later you realized he or she didn't love you, that the relationship
was hurting you. Can you see? Every time we feel like a victim we can
go deeper and realize that God is in charge of our lives and he's
doing everything for good. These are the attachments: the things,
situations, or people that are hurting us that we can't let go.

When my baby son was three weeks old I felt a tremendous pain in my
chest. At that moment I told God: "God, I'm sure this pain represents
lack of love in my life. I'm asking you to get everything and
everyone that's hurting me away from my path." Two days later my
husband had an episode of violence against me, the baby, and my
parents. At that moment I had a mystical experience in which I saw a
big hand made of Light that was putting things in order. My husband
had to move away from the house. The first day was very difficult for
all of us, but later everything went on perfectly - the situations,
the people, the money for the bills, for food, for survival. My
parents supported me a lot, and it was very clear for me that my
marriage was based on fear and not in love. That wasn't the only
relationship that fell away -. many friends disappeared too. I still
live in the same house with the baby, but we are not alone. We
invited the Holy Spirit to live with us and all we need is provided
to us by Him. I felt so much resistance to accepting that all I
needed would be given to me, but just not in the usual way of having
a job and earning money.

I realized God is not fond of the usual ways of earning money in
exchange for something, because the practice has kept people in the
illusion of separation. So, money is going to come to you but the way
God wants. I'd rather say that everything you need is going to come
to you - it could be money or things, and it doesn't matter. In the
path to the Remembrance of God we can feel that we don't have what we
want, but we can be sure we've got everything we need: Much Love.

Here are the original Guidelines given by Jesus to Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford for the overall use of A Course In Miracles in the world. These Guidelines are still very helpful and practical today.

1. A Course In Miracles was copyrighted when it was first published in the 1970s in order to keep its thought-system intact during the first 3 decades of its birth and distribution to the world.

2. A Course In Miracles was intended to be a self-study course. Only Jesus & the Holy Spirit can reveal the meaning of the Course to the student's mind. Only God knows the readiness of the student to receive this revelation.

3. A Course In Miracles was only to be published by those who devoted their lives to its guardianship.

4. A Course In Miracles was not to be commercially advertised. It has and will continue to make its own way around the world. Freely you have received, now freely give.

5. Free copies of A Course In Miracles were to be provided to those people who could not afford the cost of the Course. This function was originally the responsibility of the publisher, and now is up to everyone who hears and Answers the Call. A Course In Miracles is now offered freely on the Internet for those who wish to read and/or print a copy of the book for their study and use.

6. No one was to make any money from A Course In Miracles. Revenues and donations are always to be used for sharing and extending the Course with the world and experiencing the Inner Peace of the Kingdom of Heaven within.

"God is True Source and Christ the True Effect. Therefore the secret to true prayer is to forget the things you think you think and think you need by withdrawing faith in the temporal and that which is transitory.

"What is Eternal is valuable, just as what is of time is valueless by definition.

"With regard to this world, Purpose is the only "value" that can be given
faith if you would be God dependent.

"Giving and receiving are one. One always receives EXACTLY what one
asks for.

"The problem or confusion one may seem to experience in
perception comes about from the belief in "manifesting, " which IS the
belief in "time."

"Eternity does not manifest, Being One forever.

"Manifesting is the belief that the Eternal can take form, that Infinity can become finite, that Spirit can enter matter.

"Awakening is the experience of forgiving the illusion of "manifesting, " for What
is Identity but Spirit.

"Christ comes not into form, but Calls the sleeping mind "out of the world" to recognize our Self as Eternal Spirit.

"Is there a willingness to release the idea of manifesting forever and

"This is the same as asking, 'Are you willing to accept your Self as God created You instead of trying to make yourself?'

"The belief in manifesting can be released for it is not true.

"The belief in linear time is a defense against the Holy Instant, for time
is but a denial of Eternity.

"Beloved Child of God, You have been released of the grievance of time

"The belief in time and manifesting is an unwillingness to
accept the Instant Answer Now, and one can only receive what one is
willing to hear and see.

"When one asks for a sign or for an outcome or for accountability and responsibility in form, one asks amiss, for one is asking out of lack.

"When one has voluntarily released the beliefs in manifesting and time, one can then honestly ask: 'God, what is Your Will for me?'

"Prayer is always answered according to what the mind is willing to receive.

"And in the deepest prayer of the heart you shall realize what is meant by the statement "My thoughts create eternally."

"There is a difference between create and make, and a difference
between extension and projection.

"Love creates, the ego makes. Love extends, the ego projects.

"In Love being and having are the same.

"To the ego, possession and having are the same, and in a world of lack
what you get is what you have.

I want to share a story with you . . .

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.

She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon each pot came to a boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed green tea. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the tea out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see."

Hi David,

I have a question for you about how you deal with things like healthy
diet and exercise.

I used to be very gung-ho about eating really healthy and exercising
daily, but in the last several months I've started to realize that I
was doing those things mostly out of fear that if I DIDN'T... it would
lead to health problems, gaining unwanted weight, etc.. Therefore, I
decided to just stop "should-ing" on myself, and just making my ONLY
priority to practice forgiveness. If I feel inspired to exercise or
eat a healthy meal, I do, but if I don't feel inspired, I just do
whatever I want. As a result, I've noticed that I've been eating in a
way that isn't as healthy as I used to be and not exercising as much,
and I've also been gaining a little weight.

So I'm sort of conflicted right now about this. It doesn't feel good
to "force" myself to do things that I don't feel like doing but that I
think I "should" do. I know that if I forced myself to start
exercising daily right now, it would be motivated primarily by fear.
But the thing is, I don't really have much fear left around the body.
I know that the body is not important except as a learning device, and
I trust that whatever happens with my body will be exactly what's
meant to happen ("the script is written") and that I need not worry
about it. But on the other hand, I still feel this nagging "should"
telling me that I should exercise and eat healthier.

Have you ever dealt with these issues? How would you recommend I look
at this?

Beloved One,

Thanks for writing. Yes, the ego's 'shoulds' around diet and exercise
and health are some of its common tricks at maintaining guilt. It is
always helpful to remember that health is inner peace, and the Holy
Spirit sees the body as neutral. The focus on mind watching is most
important, no matter what the form of judgment seems to be.

The question about diet is another version of the prayer to step back
and let the Spirit lead the way. The curriculum is highly
individualized, so I cannot speak in broad generalities about diet. It
is most helpful with diet, as with all things, to be highly Intuitive
and thus very open to the Spirit's Guidance. You may use the prayer:
"Holy Spirit Guide my eating that I may be Fed by You." Truly it is
not what you eat that is most important on the spiritual journey, but
Who is Guiding the mind is All important. It is not what you put in
your mouth that defiles, but that which proceeds from an unhealed
heart. Likewise, the miracle brings healing far beyond what the ego
judges as "healthy food."

Healing always depends upon exposing and releasing the ego belief
system, for thus is distorted perception healed. Problems are never in
form, being always a belief in the deceived mind. The ego projected a
body and food and weight issues and fitness issues, etc., to distract
the mind from the Light within. In the reversal of thought the Holy
Spirit sponsors, the mind is empowered as the mechanism of Awakening.
As you learn to think with the Holy Spirit you will be truly healthy
and vibrant and joyful and energetic. This health comes from sharing
the Purpose of the Spirit, which is forgiveness.

The body is a symbol or representation, so when you feel well this is
a sign that you are following the Spirit. Let your feelings be a
barometer to the voice that you are following, and learn to trust the
Voice for God within the mind. Eat what you feel Guided to eat and
when you feel Guided to eat, and let this be a practice of the ACIM
Workbook lesson: I will step back and let Him lead the way. The ego
will attribute the feeling to form as it always does. Yet as you
deepen with the Spirit it becomes more obvious that health is a
decision of Purpose and the form is always just a backdrop or stage.
In Awakening it becomes apparent that there is nothing causative in
form, and this includes the body and food and exercise and the
environment. Every experience is a decision of the mind. With training
the mind is consistently miracle minded or right-minded, and this
state of mind is healthy. The happy dream is healthy indeed, and peace
of mind results from the Purpose & Perspecive of the Spirit. In
Quantum Physics terms, this is the Observer. In ACIM terms, this is
the Dreamer.

Digest the Spirit's Purpose and you will never hunger again. At some
point in my experience the concepts of diet and exercise and physical
health and fitness that were part of the David self concept just
seemed to fade and dissolve and disappear entirely.:) Keep the focus
on undoing false belief, and see how concerns are easily undone in
forgiveness. :)

Thank you for answering our sister with such love and patience.
Please elaborate on the nature of unconditional love and how it
relates to romantic relationships in general, both when the love is
unrequited and when male and female energies join for the purpose of a
Holy Relationship.

Beloved One,

The most romantic action one can take is giving over a relationship to
the Holy Spirit's Care. In this way you will not experience personal
responsibility for it and you will release any sense of guilt or anger
that you have previously experienced with the relationship construct.
Holy relationship is based on Giving to Extend Love instead of the
ego's personal goal of 'giving to get.' Giving from the heart is the
Purpose for everything, and this leads to the experience of
unconditional, Agape, Divine Love. Though the body was made/projected
by the ego, the Holy Spirit can now use the body to expand perception,
which is a step toward Christ Vision.

"The Love of God, for a little while, must still be expressed through
one body to another. That is because the real vision is still so dim.
Everyone can use his body best by enlarging one's perception, so he
can see the real Vision. This Vision is invisible to the physical eye.
The ultimate purpose of the body is to render itself unnecessary.
Inappropriate sex drives (or misdirected miracle-impulses) result in
guilt if expressed, and depression if denied. We said before that ALL
real pleasure comes from doing God's will. Whenever it is NOT done an
experience of lack results. This is because NOT doing the will of God
IS a lack of self." -Jesus

Remember that you are Called to be a miracle worker, and that allowing
miracles to be performed through you is your natural profession. This
Purpose eliminates all sadness and isolation and feelings of
loneliness. This Purpose brings a lasting feeling of intimacy and
connectedness.

"Indiscriminate sexual impulses resemble indiscriminate miracle
impulses in that both result in body image misperceptions. The first
is an expression of an indiscriminate attempt to reach communion
through the body. Fantasies are distorted forms of thinking, because
they always involve twisting perception into unreality. Fantasy is a
debased form of vision. Visions and Revelations are closely related.
Fantasies and projection are more closely associated, because both
attempt to control external reality according to false internal needs.
Sexual fantasies are distortions of perception by definition. They are
a means of making false associations, and obtaining pleasure from
them. No fantasies, sexual or otherwise, are true. Fantasies become
totally unnecessary as the Wholly satisfying nature of reality becomes
apparent. The sex impulse IS a miracle impulse when it is in proper
focus." -Jesus

This focus always means being used by the Holy Spirit as a step in
enlarging perception and approaching real Vision.

"Tension is the result of a building-up of unexpressed
miracle-impulses, This can be truly abated only by releasing the
miracle-drive, which has been blocked." -Jesus

Relationships are opportunities to teach and learn perfect equality
and freedom of mind. Possession is always an ego motive, and here are
some teachings from Jesus which, like the ones above, were originally
dictated to Helen and were left out of the public published version of
ACIM:

"Possession is a concept which has been subject to numerous
distortions, some of which we will list below:

1. It (possession) can be associated with the body only. If this
occurs, sex is particularly likely to be contaminated. Possession
versus being possessed is apt to be seen as the male and female role.
Since neither will be conceived of as satisfying alone, and both will
be associated with fear, this interpretation is particularly
vulnerable to psychosexual confusion.

2. From a rather similar misperceptual reference point, possession
can also be associated with things. This is essentially a shift from
1), and is usually due to an underlying fear of associating possession
with people. In this sense, it is an attempt to PROTECT people, like
the superstition about "protecting the name", we mentioned before.

Both 1) and 2) are likely to become compulsive for several reasons,
including:

a. They represent an attempt to escape from the real possession-drive,
which cannot be satisfied this way.

b. They set up substitute goals, which are usually reasonably easy to
attain.

c. They APPEAR to be relatively harmless, and thus SEEM to allay fear.
The fact that they usually interfere with good interpersonal
relationships can be interpreted, in this culture, as a lack of
sophistication on the part of the OTHER (not the self), and this
induces a false feeling of confidence in the solution, based on
reliability NOT validity. It is also fairly easy to find a partner who
SHARES the illusion. Thus, we have any number of relationships which
are actually ESTABLISHED on the basis of 1), and others which HOLD
TOGETHER primarily because of the joint interests in 2).

d. The manifestly EXTERNAL emphasis which both entail seems to be a
safety device, and thus permits a false escape from much more basic
inhibitions. As a compromise solution, the ILLUSION of interpersonal
relating is preserved, along with the retention of the lack of love
component. This kind of psychic juggling leaves the person (or
juggler) with a feeling of emptiness, which in fact is perfectly
justified, because he IS acting from scarcity. He then becomes more
and more driven in his behavior, to fill the emptiness.

...Generally, two types of emotional disturbances result:

a. The tendency to maintain the illusion that only the physical is
real. This produces depression.

b. The tendency to invest the physical with non-physical properties.
This is essentially magic, and tends more toward anxiety-proneness.

c. The tendency to vacillate from one to the other, which produces a
corresponding vacillation between depression AND anxiety.

Both result in self imposed starvation." -Jesus

I hope this offers a clearer context for releasing the desire to be
'special' in the world and to 'possess' a partner. Unconditional Love
has no object, seeing everything in the Love of God with the Vision of
Christ. This Light is the outcome of working miracles and freeing the
mind of all fear and sense of lack associated with being human.

Dear David and writers,

I also very much appreciated your wisdom and love in the emails to the
divine child who sees herself as lovesick. I wrote down the passage:
"Give this relationship to the Spirit and let it be used to purify
the mind from the ego's need to 'get' anything. Give the love you
feel, and you will come to know Love as our Self. Let the spirit lead
the way to true forgiveness. " I appreciated the discussion, because I
realized that, even though I am still in a relationship with a man I
love, and he tells and shows me he loves me very much, I have still
managed to find myself wavering back and forth into a similar state
of "love sick" mind. For a year or so this man wanted to spend all
his time with me (even a little too much for my liking!) and saw me as
his "wife" and partner, and now he is needing to take some space and
time away from me to "find himself" and "get his life together". He
is still very happy to spend occasional time together and clearly
loves me, and he is still considering that we may spend our lives
together, only he has been going through his dark night of the soul.
It has been a very good lesson to me that the ego will find pain and
suffering in any situation in which it imagines itself to be less than
in some way. I am seeing this as an opportunity to allow this feeling
of need and lack to rise up to consciousness and to transmute it in
some way. I know that in those moments when I am being my True Self,
I am not concerned with the outcome of this situation, but concerned
for the healing of us both, and the presence of Divine Love that exists.

I know I've talked to you about this situation in person, David, but a
couple of clear questions come to mind at this point. It has happened
quite often recently that I'll be feeling really loving and strong in
my sense of True Self when, suddenly, an intense wave of ego
affliction will flash through me, and I'll suddenly become upset that
this person is "leaving me hanging," or is "ignoring me," has not
answered my question in the most loving way, or some such detail.
Sometimes I have made a point to have a conversation with him about it
to express my pain, and sometimes I have steered myself away from the
projection to practice transmuting it within my own mind. Regardless,
it happens quite a lot, even though alternating with periods of peace.
Is it good for me to keep using my willpower to steer myself away
from sharing my hurt feelings? I think if I didn't steer myself away
at all I would end up with an outpour of relentless ego afflictions
directed towards him. Yet, there are times when I'm able to forgive
and release my feelings and times when I feel like I'm holding in
resentment, try as I might.

Also, there are times when I consider leaving the relationship because
there is no commitment involved at this particular point in time, and
his "crisis" and recent confusion have no clear end in sight. Also,
he has difficulty with learning responsibility and he has some
self-destructive tendencies, though it seems that it was the light of
our love that helped him bring this up to heal, and he has been clear
to me that he realizes that this is what he needs to heal now. I keep
coming back to the idea that, as long as there is an unfolding
happening, however slowly it seems, that this is an opportunity to
experience the miracle of real Love and to let it teach us what is the
purpose of our relationship because real Love is definitely there and
is being reflected back much of the time. I know that when I am truly
being connected to Self, I only want to love and support him through
his crisis, and I feel like I am free because I am not making demands
of him; unfortunately that feeling is less common than the pain of it
recently. Do you have any light to shed on this situation because it
is often painful, and I want my pain to help me bring my unconscious
to light and not just be an addiction that I need to let go of.
Sometimes I get confused between the two. Does this make sense? I
feel like my meditations and prayers and practicing correcting my
perception are all good, but sometimes I lose patience because I keep
feeling pain, and I feel like I'm spinning wheels. How do we know
when it's good to hang in there and when it's good to stop? I know
the pain will not just go away if I give up on myself now and stop
working towards ultimate forgiveness. I know that he and I have the
capacity for real Love as we have had long experiences of this and
still beautiful flashes of it now, but I sometimes wonder if it's my
attachment that's keeping me here instead of my desire for true
forgiveness and love. I think they are both true. :( :) :(

Beloved One,

All healing relationships are a context for allowing unresolved guilt
to arise in awareness and be released. If the relationship seems to
unfold with permission to expose and release the pain being held, so
be it. If you are Guided to talk about these feelings with your
partner and at some point he feels unable to cope with them or
overwhelmed by them, this is the time to step back from him and not
'push' the relationship. There is never anything to force, and
patience is natural to those who trust. Help will always come in some
form, and these messages are one direct form that is ever available.
It is always important to be reminded that you are not limited in the
ways that the Holy Spirit can reach your awareness except by the
limits of belief that you impose.

I am always here for you Beloved. That is the Purpose for our joining
in holy relationship.

Dear David

I am in such despair these days. I want to experience that I am not
this body, but it seems impossible. I find myself suffering a lot
because of the lack of sex in my relationship. I am so stuck in my old
ideas about how my relationship should look like for me to be happy.
And I hate myself for making sex such big a deal, and I hate myself
for having sexual needs. I would really rather not have any needs at
all, because they only make me feel miserable. I sometimes feel really
angry at him. I feel like this poor little victim. And sometimes it
feels like I am a little child who wants things her way or nothing at
all. I have often had the thought that maybe he and I just shouldn't
be together when it is this big a deal for me, that we don't have sex.
But then I think: what is the point in separating? It is not like I
want to be with anybody else sexually and besides I really, really
love him. I just miss this one aspect in our relationship and I don't
know what to do about itI wish I could change my thoughts, but I
don't know how. And I wish I didn't have bodily needs. I actually feel
guilty for having these needs. I feel like there is something wrong
with me. Why can't I just be happy for sharing the love he and I have?
I feel like I am a horrible and guilty person. Judging him and making
him wrong when it gets too hard judging my self all the time.

Of course I use our past together as an idealization of how things
should be. Because I remember that we used to have a lot of sex when
we just met and I tell my self that I was a lot more happy back then.
How stupid is that? I make everything about sex! I think that if there
is no sex in a relationship it isn't a good relationship. Then the
relationship is bound to die and then what will become of little me
this little poor body that no one wants to have sex with! Stupid, stupid!

Maybe I want to have sex with him so bad, because it makes me
temporarily feel alright. It makes me feel like I am worth loving and
like I am innocent. Maybe I crave sex because I need it to prove to
myself that I am alright. And when I don't have it, I feel like there
is something wrong with me because I identify with the body.

How can I experience that I am NOT my body. I would give anything in
this illusory world to be set free of the body's chains. What do you
think I should do? I have considered trying to make him change, but I
know that is really not the solution. That would be like fixing the
effect instead of the cause, right? It is just so tempting because I
seem to think that it would take the pain away right now. And I need
it to go away quickly.

I don't want my happiness and self esteem to depend on anybody else
anymore. I am tired of thinking; "I am good enough if he wants to have
sex with me", and "I am good enough because he says he loves me" or "I
am lucky that he thinks I am pretty. Otherwise he probably didn't want
to be with me." And "Why doesn't he tell me I am pretty anymore?
Doesn't he love me?" It's just terrible being this fucked up! I hate
it SO much!

Thanks for reading this sweet David. I just needed to let it out. I'm
looking forward to read your response.

Thankfully the Awakening mind is freeing itself from all needs based
in lack, for in Heaven there are no needs and no lacks. As we join in
prayer, the desire for open, free flowing, unrestricted communication
becomes activated - and this miraculous communication leads us further
inward. With regard to sex and distorted miracle impulses, Jesus says
the following:

"Sexual fantasies are distortions of perception by definition. They
are a means of making false associations, and obtaining pleasure from
them. Man can do this only because he IS creative. But although he can
perceive false associations, he can never make them real except to
himself. As was said before, man believes in what he creates. If he
creates a miracle, he will be equally strong in his belief in that.
The strength of his conviction will then sustain the belief of the
miracle receiver.

NO fantasies, sexual or otherwise, are true. Fantasies become totally
unnecessary as the Wholly satisfying nature of reality becomes
apparent. The sex impulse IS a miracle impulse when it is in proper
focus. One individual sees in another the right partner for
"procreating the stock" (Wolff was not too far off here), and also for
their joint establishment of a creative home. This does not involve
fantasy at all. If I am asked to participate in the decision, the
decision will be a Right one, too.

In a situation where you or another person, or both, experience
inappropriate sex impulses, KNOW FIRST that this is an expression of
fear. Your love toward each other is NOT perfect, and this is why the
fear arose. Turn immediately to me by denying the power of the fear,
and ask me to help you to replace it with love. This shifts the sexual
impulse immediately to the miracle-impulse, and places it at MY disposal.

Then acknowledge the true creative worth of both yourself AND the
other one. This places strength where it belongs." -Jesus

You are worthy of Divine Love, and the steps toward experiencing it
will be made apparent. The mind is very deep, and much darkness must
arise unprotected and willingly, that it may be released to the Holy
Spirit for healing. Our journey inward will seem unlike the pathways
of the world (the ego's desires for 'bigger, better, faster,
more...'), for peace of mind is our goal now. Success is inevitable,
for Eternal Peace is God's Will, and no one can fail who seeks to
reach the Truth. :)

Thank you for pouring out your heart and for your willingness to join
in healing. When healing is the context, the fear of losing a partner
seems to fade a bit, for the mind is willing to go through whatever it
seems to take to experience a true and lasting experience of Love.

The ones who I visit and who visit me, the ones who write and call
upon Love, these are all in a healing context and I appreciate your
willingness to open the communication fully and release all self
imposed limits.

I pray this message Helps in placing romantic relationships in a
healing context, for under the Holy Spirit's direction all
relationships are used as mirrors for healing. All glory to God!

Frances--I thought of you when I read the beginning of this email. I related a story about Bill Thetford
the professor of psychology who oversaw the scribing of A Course in Miracles by his colleague Helen Schucman
It is an interesting account of a miracle.
Not a big one. A miracle, nonetheless.
I have placed the account at the beginning so you may find it easily, and not have to wade through the bullshit. CM

So, Bill Thetford in 1965 - right at the beginning of his meditations,
shortly after his "Better Way," speech, was "Prompted" to go to the
corner of a busy N.York street, and he would be provided with a taxi.

He did so -- and met with no success.
(I sympathize with this agnostic Professor of Psychology in his role of Head of a prestigious
Columbia University Dept. who must have been feeling ludicrous in this
situation,)

YET! - driven by he knew not What, Standing there on that
corner, He closed his eyes and utters the startling sentence, "Thank
You Father. It is already done."
(This agnostic Prof of Psychology!!

The most rationalistic of ALL the possible disciplines) AND -- The
MIRACLE stands right in front of him when he opens his eyes - Not a
mere 'TAXI.' but a luxurious LIMO, and a driver calling thru his
wound-down window, "Can I be of assistance to you?"
(Or to that effect)

Bill stated in a much later interview, that THIS incident in his
beginning experience with ACIM, was a deeply motivating
factor in his continuation with typing Helen's shorthand notes and
encouraging her to continue although she too, at that early stage was
terrified she was losing her mind, with all the paranormal experiences
coming her way.

Let's take another non-existent leap in time to today with me, Silva.
On Sept 3rd a few weeks ago, I read again, this interview with Bill
Thetford in which he related his limo experience. -- I was in the
throes of a serious Sciatic episode, in which, after three or four
months of increasingly serious pain, I had surrendered, in that I no
longer sought release from the pain.
I accepted the principle - for the first time in 79 years (For I ceased demanding physical healing
which I had been chasing all my life at the instigation of my
Christian foster mother) the principle of total surrender in ACIM
Lesson 189 - "Come with totally empty hands unto your God."

Then, -- I read Bill's account - and when I read his, "Thank You
Father. It is already done," I shook with sobbing emotion, for I KNEW
that my chase was OVER. I mimic-ed Bill's Thank You Father. The Holy
Spirit had spoken to my heart and altho the serious pain was still
stabbing down my lumbar area to my toes - I knew an inner peace that I
had not known for months.

Exhausted, I slept for several hours for the first time in months
(Another first) and when I awoke, there was no sciatic pain.
Nor has there been any return in these last four weeks.

The experience has occasioned another quantum leap in my life's
Journey, in this Happy Dream of the Holy Spirit - and I wonder if it
is part of the final dream of the Resurrection (M28)

According to the Medical profession ( and thank God for them) I am entitled to free
treatment for 17 items on my catalogue of war wounds from the 39/45
war. I have had wonderful attention in these last 16 years of the
Howard led coalition.

But now, I am under no laws but God's -- (ACIM Lesson #76) I have already told of how the Repat Hospital
(Concord) in 1951 gave me 3-to-6 months to live at the outside, (after 5 weeks intensive care--).

So there is a precedent for #76, in my personal experience.

knowledge, making transfer to it possible. 2 Yet the last step must be
taken by God, because the last step in your redemption, which seems to
be in the future, was accomplished by God in your creation. 3 The
separation has not interrupted it. 4 Creation cannot be interrupted. 5
The separation is merely a faulty formulation of reality, with no
effect at all. 6 The miracle, without a function in Heaven, is needful
here. 7 Aspects of reality can still be seen, and they will replace
aspects of unreality. 8 Aspects of reality can be seen in everything
and everywhere. 9 Yet only God can gather them together, by crowning

SO, Bill Thetford in 1965 - right at the beginning of his meditations,
shortly after his "Better Way," speech, was "Prompted" to go to the
corner of a busy N.York street, and he would be provided with a taxi.
He did so -- and met with no success. (I sympathise with this
agnostic Professor of Psychology in his role of Head of a prestigious
Columbia University Dept. who must have been feeling ludicrous in this
situation,) YET! - driven by he knew not What, Standing there on that
corner, He closed his eyes and utters the startling sentence, "Thank
You Father. It is already done." (This agnostic Prof of Psycho'y!!
The most rationalistic of ALL the possible disciplines) AND -- The
MIRACLE stands right in front of him when he opens his eyes - Not a
mere 'TAXI.' but a luxurious LIMMO, and a driver calling thru his
wounddown window, "Can I be of assistance to you?" (Or to that effect)
Bill stated in a much later interview, that THIS incident in his
beginning experience with ACIM, was a deeply motivating
factor in his continuation with typing Helen's shorthand notes and
encouraging her to continue altho she too, at that early stage was
terrified she was losing her mind, with all the paranormal experiences
coming her way.

Let's take another non-existent leap in time to today with me, Silva.
On Sept 3rd a few weeks ago, I read again, this interview with Bill
Thetford in which he related his limmo experience. -- I was in the
throes of a serious Sciatic episode, in which, after three or four
months of increasingly serious pain, I had surrendered, in that I no
longer sought release from the pain. I accepted the principle - for
the first time in 79 years (For I ceased demanding physical healing
which I had been chasing all my life at the instigation of my
Christian Fostermother) the principle of total surrender in ACIM
Lesson 189 - "Come with totally empty hands unto your God."

Then, -- I read Bill's account - and when I read his, "Thank You
Father. It is already done," I shook with sobbing emotion, for I KNEW
that my chase was OVER. I mimic-ed Bill's Thank You Father. The Holy
Spirit had spoken to my heart and altho the serious pain was still
stabbing down my lumbar area to my toes - I knew an inner peace that I
had not known for months. Exhausted, I slept for several hours for
the first time in months (Another first) and when I awoke, there was
no sciatic pain. Nor has there been any return in these last four weeks.

The experience has occasioned another quantum leap in my life's
Journey, in this Happy Dream of the Holy Spirit - and I wonder if it
is part of the final dream of the Resurrection (M28) According to the
Medical profession ( and thank God for them) I am entitled to free
treatment for 17 items on my catalogue of war wounds from the 39/45
war. I have had wonderful attention in these last 16 years of the
Howard led coalition. But now, I am under no laws but God's --
(ACIM Lesson #76) I have already told of how the Repat Hospital
(Concord) in 1951 gave me 3to6 months to live at the outside,(after 5
weeks intensive care--).

So there is a precedent for #76, in my personal experience.

Manual 28 WHAT IS THE RESURRECTION?

Very simply, the resurrection is the overcoming or surmounting of
death. 2 It is a reawakening or a rebirth; a change of mind about the
meaning of the world. 3 It is the acceptance of the Holy Spirit's
interpretation of the world's purpose; the acceptance of the Atonement
for oneself. 4 It is the end of dreams of misery, and the glad
awareness of the Holy Spirit's final dream. 5 It is the recognition of
the gifts of God. 6 It is the dream in which the body functions
perfectly, having no function except communication. 7 It is the lesson
in which learning ends, for it is consummated and surpassed with this.
8 It is the invitation to God to take His final step. 9 It is the
relinquishment of all other purposes, all other interests, all other
wishes and all other concerns. 10 It is the single desire of the Son
for the Father.

M-28.2. The resurrection is the denial of death, being the assertion
of life. 2 Thus is all the thinking of the world reversed entirely. 3
Life is now recognized as salvation, and pain and misery of any kind
perceived as hell. 4 Love is no longer feared, but gladly welcomed. 5
Idols have disappeared, and the remembrance of God shines unimpeded
across the world. 6 Christ's face is seen in every living thing, and
nothing is held in darkness, apart from the light of forgiveness. 7
There is no sorrow still upon the earth. 8 The joy of Heaven has come
upon it.

M-28.3. Here the curriculum ends. 2 From here on, no directions are
needed. 3 Vision is wholly corrected and all mistakes undone. 4 Attack
is meaningless and peace has come. 5 The goal of the curriculum has
been achieved. 6 Thoughts turn to Heaven and away from hell. 7 All
longings are satisfied, for what remains unanswered or incomplete? 8
The last illusion spreads across the world, forgiving all things and
replacing all attack. 9 The whole reversal is accomplished. 10 Nothing
is left to contradict the Word of God. 11 There is no opposition to
the truth. 12 And now the truth can come at last. 13 How quickly will
it come as it is asked to enter and envelop such a world!

M-28.4. All living hearts are tranquil with a stir of deep
anticipation, for the time of everlasting things is now at hand. 2
There is no death. 3 The Son of God is free. 4 And in his freedom is
the end of fear. 5 No hidden places now remain on earth to shelter
sick illusions, dreams of fear and misperceptions of the universe. 6
All things are seen in light, and in the light their purpose is
transformed and understood. 7 And we, God's children, rise up from the
dust and look upon our perfect sinlessness. 8 The song of Heaven
sounds around the world, as it is lifted up and brought to truth.

M-28.5. Now there are no distinctions. 2 Differences have disappeared
and Love looks on Itself. 3 What further sight is needed? 4 What
remains that vision could accomplish? 5 We have seen the face of
Christ, His sinlessness, His Love behind all forms, beyond all
purposes. 6 Holy are we because His Holiness has set us free indeed! 7
And we accept His Holiness as ours; as it is. 8 As God created us so
will we be forever and forever, and we wish for nothing but His Will
to be our own. 9 Illusions of another will are lost, for unity of
purpose has been found.

M-28.6. These things await us all, but we are not prepared as yet to
welcome them with joy. 2 As long as any mind remains possessed of evil
dreams, the thought of hell is real. 3 God's teachers have the goal of
wakening the minds of those asleep, and seeing there the vision of
Christ's face to take the place of what they dream. 4 The thought of
murder is replaced with blessing. 5 Judgment is laid by, and given Him
Whose function judgment is. 6 And in His Final Judgment is restored
the truth about the holy Son of God. 7 He is redeemed, for he has
heard God's Word and understood its meaning.

(REPEAT: He is redeemed, for he has heard God's word and understood
it's meaning -- "The last step in your Redemption which seems to be
in the future, was accomplished by God in your creation." (T13:8,4
above) "Thank You Father. It is already done!" (Over riding principle)
"I am as God created me." #162 -- "These words are sacred.....
By them it, (The world) disappears, and all things seen within its
misty clouds and vapourous illusions vanish as these words are spoken.
For they come from God.......There is no dream these words will not
dispel.

HOLY INDEED IS HE WHO MAKES THESE WORDS HIS OWN; ARISING WITH THEM IN
HIS MIND, RECALLING THEM THRUOUT THE DAY, AT NIGHT BRNGING THEM WITH
HIM AS HE GOES TOSLEEP. his dreams are happy and his rest secure; his
safety certain and his body is healed. ("HIS BODY HEALED," (These
words are sacred because they come from God.)
"Thank You Father. It is already done."

"Let me today, My Father, take the role You offer me in Your request
that I accept Atonement for myself. For thus does what is thereby
reconciled in me, become as surely reconciled to You." (ACIM Lesson #318)

"This IS A Course In Miracles. Take notes."
To Repeat: From M28;- "The Resurrection is:......... ......... .......
"The acceptance of the Atonement for oneself. It is the end of misery,
and the glad awareness of the Holy spirit's final dream. It is the
recognition of the gifts of God. It is the dream in which the body
functions perfectly, having no function except communication. " (The
body functions perfectly.)
"Thank You Father. It is already done."

8 He is free because he let God's Voice proclaim the truth. 9 And all
he sought before to crucify are resurrected with him, by his side, as
he prepares with them to meet his God.
29. AS FOR THE REST...

M-29.1. This manual is not intended to answer all questions that both
teacher and pupil may raise. 2 In fact, it covers only a few of the
more obvious ones, in terms of a brief summary of some of the major
concepts in the text and workbook. 3 It is not a substitute for
either, but merely a supplement. 4 While it is called a manual for
teachers, it must be remembered that only time divides teacher and
pupil, so that the difference is temporary by definition. 5 In some
cases, it may be helpful for the pupil to read the manual first. 6
Others might do better to begin with the workbook. 7 Still others may
need to start at the more abstract level of the text.

M-29.2. Which is for which? 2 Who would profit more from prayers
alone? 3 Who needs but a smile, being as yet unready for more? 4 No
one should attempt to answer these questions alone. 5 Surely no
teacher of God has come this far without realizing that. 6 The
curriculum is highly individualized, and all aspects are under the
Holy Spirit's particular care and guidance. 7 Ask and He will answer.
8 The responsibility is His, and He alone is fit to assume it. 9 To do
so is His function. 10 To refer the questions to Him is yours. 11
Would you want to be responsible for decisions about which you
understand so little? 12 Be glad you have a Teacher Who cannot make a
mistake. 13 His answers are always right. 14 Would you say that of yours?

M-29.3. There is another advantage,–and a very important one,–in
referring decisions to the Holy Spirit with increasing frequency. 2
Perhaps you have not thought of this aspect, but its centrality is
obvious. 3 To follow the Holy Spirit's guidance is to let yourself be
absolved of guilt. 4 It is the essence of the Atonement. 5 It is the
core of the curriculum. 6 The imagined usurping of functions not your
own is the basis of fear. 7 The whole world you see reflects the
illusion that you have done so, making fear inevitable. 8 To return
the function to the One to Whom it belongs is thus the escape from
fear. 9 And it is this that lets the memory of love return to you. 10
Do not, then, think that following the Holy Spirit's guidance is
necessary merely because of your own inadequacies. 11 It is the way
out of hell for you.

M-29.4. Here again is the paradox often referred to in the course. 2
To say, "Of myself I can do nothing" is to gain all power. 3 And yet
it is but a seeming paradox. 4 As God created you, you <have> all
power. 5 The image you made of yourself has none. 6 The Holy Spirit
knows the truth about you. 7 The image you made does not. 8 Yet,
despite its obvious and complete ignorance, this image assumes it
knows all things because you have given that belief to it. 9 Such is
your teaching, and the teaching of the world that was made to uphold
it. 10 But the Teacher Who knows the truth has not forgotten it. 11
His decisions bring benefit to all, being wholly devoid of attack. 12
And therefore incapable of arousing guilt.

M-29.5. Who assumes a power that he does not possess is deceiving
himself. 2 Yet to accept the power given him by God is but to
acknowledge his Creator and accept His gifts. 3 And His gifts have no
limit. 4 To ask the Holy Spirit to decide for you is simply to accept
your true inheritance. 5 Does this mean that you cannot say anything
without consulting Him? 6 No, indeed! 7 That would hardly be
practical, and it is the practical with which this course is most
concerned. 8 If you have made it a habit to ask for help when and
where you can, you can be confident that wisdom will be given you when
you need it. 9 Prepare for this each morning, remember God when you
can throughout the day, ask the Holy Spirit's help when it is feasible
to do so, and thank Him for His guidance at night. 10 And your
confidence will be well founded indeed.

M-29.6. Never forget that the Holy Spirit does not depend on your
words. 2 He understands the requests of your heart, and answers them.
3 Does this mean that, while attack remains attractive to you, He will
respond with evil? 4 Hardly! 5 For God has given Him the power to
translate your prayers of the heart into His language. 6 He
understands that an attack is a call for help. 7 And He responds with
help accordingly. 8 God would be cruel if He let your words replace
His Own. 9 A loving father does not let his child harm himself, or
choose his own destruction. 10 He may ask for injury, but his father
will protect him still. 11 And how much more than this does your
Father love His Son?

M-29.7. Remember you are His completion and His Love. 2 Remember your
weakness is His strength. 3 But do not read this hastily or wrongly. 4
If His strength is in you, what you perceive as your weakness is but
illusion. 5 And He has given you the means to prove it so. 6 Ask all
things of His Teacher, and all things are given you. 7 Not in the
future but immediately; now. 8 God does not wait, for waiting implies
time and He is timeless. 9 Forget your foolish images, your sense of
frailty and your fear of harm, your dreams of danger and selected
"wrongs." 10 God knows but His Son, and as he was created so he is. 11
In confidence I place you in His Hands, and I give thanks for you that
this is so.

M-29.8. And now in all your doings be you blessed.
2 God turns to you for help to save the world.
3 Teacher of God, His thanks He offers you,
And all the world stands silent in the grace
You bring from Him. 4 You are the Son He loves,
And it is given you to be the means
Through which His Voice is heard around the world,
To close all things of time; to end the sight
Of all things visible; and to undo
All things that change. 5 Through you is ushered in
A world unseen, unheard, yet truly there.
6 Holy are you, and in your light the world
Reflects your holiness, for you are not
Alone and friendless. 7 I give thanks for you,
And join your efforts on behalf of God,
Knowing they are on my behalf as well,
And for all those who walk to God with me.
8 AMEN

Hello to all, This is me, Silva in my human form. When I was but a
boy, I was given:
"WITH LONG LIFE WILL I SATISFY HIM,
AND SHOW HIM MY SALVATION.". ......... ......... .(PSALM 91)

At just on 87 years of age, miraculously sustained for these last 56
years in spite of a terminal prognosis, here is another account of the
Merciful, Divine Intervention in a human's life with Its Healing
consequences. Of course, there are many gaps in the story, but there
are none in the Presence of God.

Thank You father. It is already done.

Liberty vs. Security: False Dichotomy!

Jesus turns our attention away from man-made government and affirms
that God is our safety net.

God, not mankind's government, is the true
provider of security.

Not human laws, but Divine Law and Divine Grace constitute our insurance policy

Beloved One,

Today I am Guided to write some words about the simplicity of the Present Moment and the ego's vain attempts to obscure the plain and simple Truth. When the mind is drawn to thoughts about the past and future it is literally blank and sound asleep. As these thoughts are not keep hidden and freely given over to the Spirit, they disappear from awareness, opening the mind to the Present. Darkness, unprotected and undefended, must give way to Light. Yet nothing can be kept hidden from awareness in the mind for the Light to shine unencumbered. Without being exposed, the ego will seem to rule one's state of mind.

In A Course In Miracles Jesus says:

"You have been told to bring the darkness to the light, and guilt to holiness. And you have also been told that error must be corrected at its source. Therefore, it is the tiny part of yourself, the little thought that seems split off and separate, the Holy Spirit needs. The rest is fully in God's keeping, and needs no guide. Yet this wild and delusional thought needs help because, in its delusions, it thinks it is the Son of God, whole and omnipotent, sole ruler of the kingdom it set apart to tyrannize by madness into obedience and slavery. This is the little part you think you stole from Heaven. Give it back to Heaven. Heaven has not lost it, but <you> have lost sight of Heaven. Let the Holy Spirit remove it from the withered kingdom in which you set it off, surrounded by darkness, guarded by attack and reinforced by hate. Within its barricades is still a tiny segment of the Son of God, complete and holy, serene and unaware of what you think surrounds it." (T-18.IX.1)

Protect an attack thought and it seems real and justified. Expose it to the Spirit and it dissolves instantly. The reason forgiveness seems to take so long in time is that the difference between what is the same and what is different is still obscured. No attack thought has a foundation or a real cause, so judgment of the effects of the world has no meaning in Reality. Yet to a sleeping mind that believes in real effects and specifics, the Spirit offers another Way of looking at the world. This Perspective is the Answer to every seeming specific problem that arises in awareness.

Jesus also says: "You have been told to ask the Holy Spirit for the answer to any specific problem, and that you will receive a specific answer if such is your need. You have also been told that there is only one problem and one answer. In prayer this is not contradictory. There are decisions to make here, and they must be made whether they be illusions or not. You cannot be asked to accept answers which are beyond the level of need that you can recognize. (SOP-1.I-2)

Guidance must come from the Spirit and reach the mind when and where the mind believes it is. Most of the Guidance the mind receives from the Spirit is specific, since the sleeping mind believes in specifics and could not understand an abstract Answer. So this means it is extremely important to follow the intuitive steps which are Given for Awakening. All the steps aim at the washing away of the addiction to specifics and linear believing and thinking and perceiving. When eventually distractions disappear, the Truth is beheld and accepted exactly As Is, and this is the simplicity of Being Present. Now is a moment in which one receives and gives perfect communication with the entire universe, and nothing is kept hidden or seperate or apart. A Course In Miracles is a tool for experiencing this moment.

Jesus says this about A Course In Miracles: "The reason this course is simple is that truth is simple. Complexity is of the ego, and is nothing more than the ego's attempt to obscure the obvious. You could live forever in the holy instant, beginning now and reaching to eternity, but for a very simple reason. Do not obscure the simplicity of this reason, for if you do, it will be only because you prefer not to recognize it and not to let it go. The simple reason, simply stated, is this: The holy instant is a time in which you receive and give perfect communication. This means, however, that it is a time in which your mind is open, both to receive and give. It is the recognition that all minds are in communication. It therefore seeks to change nothing, but merely to accept everything." (T-15.IV.6)

Is there any way that could be simpler and more direct than complete acceptance Now. How simple is the obvious. Jesus continues:

"Being so simple and direct, this course has nothing in it that is not consistent. The seeming inconsistencies, or parts you find more difficult than others, are merely indications of areas where means and end are still discrepant. And this produces great discomfort. This need not be. This course requires almost nothing of you. It is impossible to imagine one that asks so little, or could offer more." (T-20.VII.I)

and...

"Think not that happiness is ever found by following a road away from it. This makes no sense, and cannot be the way. To you who seem to find this course to be too difficult to learn, let me repeat that to achieve a goal you must proceed in its direction, not away from it. And every road that leads the other way will not advance the purpose to be found. If this be difficult to understand, then is this course impossible to learn. But only then. For otherwise, it is a simple teaching in the obvious. (T-31.IV.7)

A Course In Miracles points to a living experience, not another set of self-concepts. Christ asks for trust in the Inner Guidance so that all self-concepts and specific images can be laid aside forever. What you seem to do comes from what you seem to think, and what you seem to think comes from what you seem to believe. So you must learn to systematically, with the Spirit's Help, question EVERYTHING that you seem to believe. The miracle offers a replacement to false identity dependency. When the mind clings roles and concepts and rituals it remains defensive and fearful, even if it is unaware of the depth of the fear that lies beneath. Yet the unconscious guilt and fear and hatred must come to the surface before they can be released forever.

It is an art to let the Spirit use the symbols of the world without identifying with them. One seems to write a book and yet cannot identify with the image of being an author. One seems to speak and yet cannot identify with the image of speaker. One seems to teach and yet cannot identify with the image of teacher. One seems to 'have' a child and yet cannot identify with the image of parent. There is no 'doer' in Being Present. The ego made the 'doer' so it could project the ontological guilt stemming from the belief in separation onto the bodies and images of the cosmos. Yet Divine Presence is without guilt and projection. Presence simply extends Love. Presence is universal and impersonal, Being Pure Love.

If you feel an emotion that doesn't feel simple, be humble and willing to let go of the self-concepts and images of complexity. Who is this 'doer'? All stress and anxiety and fear and guilt and anger come from identifying with the 'doer.' When I say let the ego be undone, I am refering to the identification with the 'doer.' In unified perception (forgiveness) there is no 'doer.'

There is tranquil Stillness in the Present. There are no controversies or distractions or dramas or self-concepts right Now. The concept of a 'doer' but seemed to thrive in the concept of a story. The story was fictitious because it was linear. The story was based in time, and depended upon it. Yet time is simultaneous, not linear. Rejoice and be glad! Remember this one insight and you will never thirst again for another story. :)

Dear David,

Your web link was sent to me by a friend and I have been deeply
moved and inspired by it and your work for the Kingdom.

I have been greatly blessed by half a lifetime of wondrous contact
with and leading, guiding, inspiring from the living Jesus, who
first manifested to me in a basement room in Vancouver, Canada, in
1967. It was such a magnificent, soul-soaring experience that I
immediately wanted to rush out into the world and shout from the
roof-tops that he is ALIVE, REAL. But he had other plans for me. In
fact he told me many times over the years that we – he and I – had
agreed and arranged `afore time' (which was his way of saying,
before I incarnated) the path along which he would lead me. He also
said many times, as we journeyed along Life's Path, `I lead, do thou
follow.'

He knew where we were going but this was, according to pre-arranged
plan, withheld from my conscious awareness, until the last few
years. In recent years it has been revealed to me that the objective
of not knowing but following in faith, trust, obedience and
commitment, was so that I could have this decades-long experience of
the real, living Jesus and his great plan for the spiritual
upliftment of `all who will' to the `Kingdom Awareness' and then
share the practical and soul-feeding benefits of these experiences
with my fellow travellers on the Path back to Eternity.

Under guidance and much help from the Holy Spirit I have written a
book about these experiences, "Synchronicity, for Goodness' Sake"

The Voice that speaks through David and the peace and love and joy that emanate through him are unmistakably the Holy Spirit.

Many students and teachers of ACIM continue to ask for more of a practical, step by step approach to learning the metaphysics and going deeply into the application of the teachings, and the newly launched Teacher of Teachers website has come as an answer to that prayer. To learn A Course in Miracles requires a genuine understanding of its theories, yet, theologies, concepts and ideas do not lead to revelation, they can only point the way. ACIM is a Course in mind training and the purpose of this website is to facilitate mind training; to go from theory to practice and ultimately experience. The ideas conveyed on this website are the result of miracle-mindedness which transcends all personal perspectives.

This Saturday evening David will speak about the website and its application, as always open to receiving questions and sharing communications for the purpose of awakening. A second topic that has been requested is: Salvation is no compromise of any kind. There is no middle ground and there is no decision maker. At every given moment the mind is serving God or the ego.

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to announce that after many months of preparing audio and written material, that phase one of the Teacher of Teachers website is now online and waiting to be utilized. I won't spend much time here describing it because it really speaks for itself. However, I will copy and paste a few items directly from the site which gives an overview of it.

I did wanted to make a note of one thing which I feel is of importance for the site's users. You can access the website by two different URLs (website addresses). You may use http://www.teachero fteachers. net or http://www.miracles home.org. Either one will take you to the same place. However, by using the miracleshome. org address, this should allow your browser to give you the title to each page and each audio at the top of your screen as you go through the materials. I think this can be particularly helpful when you are listening to an audio track and wondering, "What's the name of this talk?" If you are using miracleshome. org you will know. Otherwise it will just say something like "Teacher of Teachers – A Course in Miracles Study Resource". The domain name teacherofteachers. net forwards to miracleshome. org and for some reason it doesn't make the page titles available when you use that URL.

Now, I want to thank all of the volunteers that gave their time, devotion and love to this project. It couldn't have happened any other way. Even if you volunteered but I didn't have a project for you at the time, I still want to express my gratitude and to also let you know that I still have your email addresses and I haven't forgotten about you!

It has been a joy and an inspiration to work on this site and it brought so many people together to serve a purpose that is totally unknown to this world. This website is given to the Sonship by the Sonship and I am honored and blessed to have taken a role in its initiation. This has been a profound experience of the idea in the Course that states, "the only true pleasure is doing God's Will".

About this website...

Teacher of Teachers refers to the Holy Spirit, which in A Course in Miracles terminology is also called the Voice for God and the Right-Mind. The intention of this website is to be as clearly aligned with the Holy Spirit, the one true Teacher, as possible and for the materials available here to be reflective of that perspective. On that note, we have felt guided to make this website as 'impersonal' as possible, or even 'anonymous' in the sense that the focus here is the content of the materials, the conveying of ideas, rather than on whomever the speaker or the writer seemed to be. This serves as a reminder that all true wisdom is of the Spirit rather than persons. It wasn't practical in all circumstances to eliminate every name mentioned - particularly in audio format - but this has been done in most cases with the written material.

A large quantity of the audio material on this website has never been made available before. Most of the audio material on this site had been archived in audiocassette format for many years, having been moved around from damp basements to hot attics, trunks of cars and finally office shelves. Much care has been put into the preservation of the sound quality of these materials but in some cases full restoration of the sound was not possible. We would encourage you to keep in mind that the material that is available here is available because of its content. Certain tracks may have spots where it is hard to hear but in most cases this lasts only briefly. Transcripts have been made for most tracks that were of lesser audio quality.

Like any other tool, this website is a beginning and not an end. What you will find here is a collection of ideas and no single idea in this world is wholly true. Only one thing is for certain, and that is; you will find what you are looking for because, as the Course says, the mind always gets what it wants. We would invite you to simply be open to the ideas here rather than immediately accepting or rejecting them. Thoroughly open your mind and inquire within and there will the Teacher be.

The format of this website is done in a way to make more efficient use of the growing quantity of materials and archives which have been accumulated over the years, allowing the user to explore a great number of the concepts and ideas in a simple format. Much more will be added to this website when it is available. It is now and may always be a work in progress. How to use this website...

We recommend that you start with the first item listed on the 'Laying the Framework' page and then continue in order to the last item before moving on to the next set. Don't forget the supplemental materials!

Teacher of Teachers is setup to start from the beginning. As Jesus says in ACIM, healing is done from the bottom up and not the top down. As said, most of the audio material on this website has never been made available before. Other materials have been made available and archived in various sources on the web and are now here to be utilized more efficiently. All materials have been organized and arranged to build upon each other. The focal points of this website are the audio recordings and the longer papers or transcripts. Supplemental material is added where appropriate. Links to the key metaphysical principles for the audio tracks will be added very soon.

The materials library is constructed of three parts:

The first is called Laying the Framework. It starts with some of the most basic (and fundamental) ideas that are presented in A Course in Miracles as well as some items about the Course itself. A lot of the first questions and issues that are raised by those who find the Course are answered here in one form or another. Some of the early metaphors of the Course are introduced and explored as well as some of the fundamental metaphysical ideas.

The second set of materials is called Unlearning the World. This section covers many concepts, particularly the middle and later metaphors used by the Course. This is the stage of learning where egoic assumptions, beliefs and distortions are brought more clearly into awareness. A solid understanding of the ACIM metaphysics is the key to moving into the final stage of learning to unlearn the world; the transfer of training.

The third set of materials is called The Transfer of Training. Knowing the ideas isn't enough to have the experience beyond the words; they must be lived and applied. The deepest teachings about the advanced ideas of cause and effect as well as the subject / object split and relationships are covered here as well as many other ideas. A solid understanding of the most advanced metaphors of ACIM combined with a willingness to transfer those ideas to one's life without exception has only one result; a clear mind and consistent happiness.

Holy Spirit Speaks Part 5 of 5 Remember this From My Universal Curriculum

To transfer My ideas to ones life wholly opens the mind to knowing. To be free of confusion and fear is to be truly religious. Only the total transfer of the My Universal Curriculum (which is rooted in the idea of forgiveness) will undo the confusion between form and content. Remember this, "The only judgment involved is the Holy Spirit's one division into two categories; one of love, and the other the call for love. You cannot safely make this division, for you are much too confused either to recognize love, or to believe that everything else is nothing but a call for love. You are too bound to form, and not to content. What you consider content is not content at all. It is merely form, and nothing else. For you do not respond to what a brother really offers you, but only to the particular perception of his offering by which the ego judges it."

I have said many times before, confusion will end completely when My Course is used as a ladder for the specific (worldly) oriented mind, so that it can be launched into abstraction through a series of concepts that undo themselves. The mind is too attached to make the giant leap. So I have given you a conceptual course to loosen your mind into that which is naturally abstract. The point is not too-camp out or get stuck on a metaphor or concept. Neither are we to organize or conceptualize spirit within the world. This is a contradiction and denies My Curriculum. The point is to yield into abstraction by loosening the mind from form- we use this stepping stone approach until all concepts has been transcended. Remember this, "Thus were specifics made. And now it is specifics we must use in practicing. We give them to the Holy Spirit, that He may employ them for a purpose which is different from the one we gave to them. Yet He can use but what we made, to teach us from a different point of view, so we can see a different use in everything…This world is full of miracles. They stand in shining silence next to every dream of pain and suffering, of sin and guilt. They are the dream's alternative, the choice to be the dreamer, rather than deny the active role in making up the dream. They are the glad effects of taking back the consequence of sickness to its cause. The body is released because the mind acknowledges "this is not done to me, but I am doing this". And thus the mind is free to make another choice instead. Beginning here, salvation will proceed to change the course of every step in the descent to separation, until all the steps have been retraced, the ladder gone, and all the dreaming of the world undone."

Level confused teachers and students equate truth with conceptual thought, therefore denying My ladder. These confused teachers are teachers of ego. I am calling you from the world and one needs to be very clear on all worldly values, assumptions, so one can be a teacher of God. A true teacher of God can teach through silence, they teach through the joy of being one. There is nothing to do but Be Who You Are. The true teacher can teach without words. I am calling all to teach only love, but only a few hear My Voice. Like I have said, "To teach is to demonstrate. There are only two thought systems, and you demonstrate that you believe one or the other is true all the time. From your demonstration others learn, and so do you. The question is not whether you will teach, for in that there is no choice. The purpose of the course might be said to provide you with a means of choosing what you want to teach on the basis of what you want to learn. You cannot give to someone else, but only to yourself, and this you learn through teaching. Teaching is but a call to witnesses to attest to what you believe. It is a method of conversion. This is not done by words alone. Any situation must be to you a chance to teach others what you are, and what they are to you. No more than that, but also never less."

Many of My teachers and students of the universal curriculum proclaim to be teachers of God. They spend much of their time picking passages (quoting scripture), focusing on precise terminology (form). They use their intellectual stances to prove their assumptions. Some make personal careers on these assumptions; and many teachers' right books without questioning their assumptions. Most books are based on ones personal assumptions and yet they proclaim they have the truth. They do this to establish their opinions, to solidify their egos. This is missing the mark of My Curriculum. The undoing of the ego is the only purpose for time and the world. This is not about good or bad, because you are beyond this world of duality. But those who cling to interpretations - cling to the word - cling to ones earthly lives are far from the truth and there is a consequence for this; there is pain and destruction. Remember this, "The arrogant must cling to words, afraid to go beyond them to experience <which> might affront their stance. Yet are the humble free to hear the Voice which tells them what they are, and what to do."

Its insistence, its stance, shows the egos attempts to preserve itself through a conceptual identity of its particular spiritual path, an identity based on conceptual thought. True spirituality isn't about having a belief system, even a superior belief system that is to be revered. It is about undoing, it's about the Atoning of all beliefs. Once the mind is free of belief, it can reference from abstraction, which is beyond belief. But until abstraction is experienced, beliefs will be our tool – they can be nothing more. True spirituality is learning to accept perception as it is, seeing life now. Remember, "Complete abstraction is the natural condition of the mind. But part of it is now unnatural. It does not look on everything as one. It sees instead but fragments of the whole, for only thus could it invent the partial world you see. The purpose of all seeing is to show you what you wish to see. All hearing but brings to your mind the sounds it wants to hear."

Let me ask this question: Can the mind, <which> is not of this world, ever free itself from the desire for the world? Lowering the mask of personhood is the only purpose for the world. Lowering the mask of personhood frees the mind. Allow the persona to crumble, allow it to fall away! Let go of your ideas of family, religion, spirituality, God, truth, let go of all belief and values of the world. My angels sing through out heaven as you see the superficiality of all belief and theology. When we can see the attempt to be spiritual through a belief system is missing the mark - then the way out of illusions is seen and recognized. Understanding this is a giant leap towards the preparation of Knowledge. Remember this, "Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God."

What do you feel? Is peace in your awareness? Are you certain which way you go? And are you sure the goal of Heaven can be reached? If not, you walk alone. Ask, then, your Friend to join with you, and give you certainty of where you go."

Remember this From My Universal Curriculum, Part 4

The Course or any other form of My Universal curriculum is not to be revered or made special. Most of the worlds wars today are rooted in the belief in separate religions. The escape from all concepts and beliefs is salvation. You don't have to seek for the light, because what is true is ever present. The aim is not to seek for what is true;the aim is to remove all blocks to loves awareness. In the end all belief is to be relinquished, because God is beyond belief. Many religions and spiritual leaders are stuck at this level of conceptual understanding (form), they do not see the superficiality of form, and A Course in Miracles is included in that,the worldly see the form as content within itself. Pure content is abstraction and beyond all form. Remember this, "You are a perfect creation, and should experience awe only in the presence of the Creator of perfection."

The worldly fills its mind with superficial beliefs about God, Truth, and Spirit. All of this is superficial. The superficial cling, they are angry and violent when another doesn't accept its beliefs, they are jealous and envious when another seems to have something they want. They are furious if another doesn't accept their belief. All of this blocks Me from entering your mind and therefore denies true religion. The truly religious is beyond belief; they have seen the fallacy of words and concepts. Remember this, "I have made every effort to use words that are almost impossible to distort, but it is always possible to twist symbols around if you wish."

The worldly does not know how to love or know how to leave things be as they are. The worldly craves to be understood, to be loved and seen as special people. Remember this, "The body is the central figure in the dreaming of the world. There is no dream without it,nor does it exist without the dream in which it acts as if it were a person to be seen and be believed. It takes the central place in every dream, which tells the story of how it was made by other bodies, born into the world outside the body, lives a little while and dies, to be united in the dust with other bodies dying like itself. In the brief time allotted it to live, it seeks for other bodies as its friends and enemies. Its safety is its main concern. Its comfort is its guiding rule. It tries to look for pleasure, and avoid the things that would be hurtful. Above all, it tries to teach itself its pains and joys are different and can be told apart."

In the Holiness of the present moment no one is special, for your personal needs intrude on no one to make your brothers seem different. The belief that you are a person is the one fundamental problem you have. Remember this, "All mind is whole, and the belief that part of it is physical, or not mind, is a fragmented or sick interpretation. "

The worldly gives in order to receive, which is of the ego, not the Spirit. Giving and receiving are one, they are simultaneous and this truth stands outside of time, therefore true giving is receiving. Remember the miracle of my words, "No one can lose, and everyone must benefit. Each miracle is an example of what justice can accomplish when it is offered to everyone alike. It is received and given equally. It is awareness that giving and receiving are the same. Because it does not make the same unlike, it sees no differences where none exists. And thus it is the same for everyone, because it sees no differences in them. Its offering is universal, and it teaches but one message: What is God's belongs to everyone, and is his due."

You are forever seeking, either for recognition, security or something to believe in, a nation, an ideology, an interpretation, it doesn't matter; it is all insecure and misdirected loyalty. I have given you a picture but you are only seeing its frame. You do not know how to look. Look at the picture wholly. Do not let the frame (form of My Course) distract you. Remember this, "You cannot have the frame without the picture. What you value is the frame, for there you see no conflict. Yet the frame is only the wrapping for the gift of conflict. The frame is not the gift. Be not deceived by the most superficial aspects of this thought system, for these aspects enclose the whole, complete in every aspect. Death lies in this glittering gift. Let not your gaze dwell on the hypnotic gleaming of the frame. Look at the picture, and realize that death is offered you."

It is easy to curse a government, a dictator, a murder; it is easy to curse another. But this very attitude of domination and control, this craving for power is in the minds of almost everyone. The seed of war is in everyone who perceives a world apart from oneself. The real question is, will you water the seed or pluck it before the seed takes root? Because a tree that bears no fruit will be cut away. Remember this, "The branch that bears no fruit will be cut off and will wither away. Be glad! The light will shine from the true Foundation of life, and your own thought system will stand corrected. It cannot stand otherwise. You who fear salvation are choosing death. Life and death, light and darkness, knowledge and perception, are irreconcilable. To believe that they can be reconciled is to believe that God and His Son can not. Only the oneness of knowledge is free of conflict. Your kingdom is not of this world because it was given you from beyond this world.

The worldly wars over its beliefs, its classes, and it seeming distinctions. There is no degree of war; a war is anything unlike perfect peace, either it's an irritation or a full on war between nations. It's all the same. This is the authority problem, and is the only problem you really have. Until the source is healed there will always be confusion and hate, which is war. Remember this, " Besides your recognizing that thoughts are never idle, salvation requires that you also recognize that every thought you have brings either peace or war; either love or fear. A neutral result is impossible because a neutral thought is impossible. There is such a temptation to dismiss fear thoughts as unimportant, trivial and not worth bothering about that it is essential you recognize them all as equally destructive, but equally unreal. We will practice this idea in many forms before you really understand it…take not one step in the descent to hell. For having taken one, you will not recognize the rest for what they are. And they will, follow. Attack in any form has placed your foot upon the twisted stairway that leads from Heaven. Yet any instant it is possible to have all this undone. How can you know whether you chose the stairs to Heaven or the way to hell? Quite easily.

Separation 'question' revisited

In this total perfect love bliss where forgiveness is not even a
concept, our now, that we have forgotten, what was the cause that
effected the illusion of separation? And if it happened once can it
happen again? Why a mass forgetting?

Your love and attention is much appreciated and your responses are
eagerly awaited.

Reply:

Beloved One,

Separation is an assumption, a belief, not a reality. The ego will
ask many questions that there is no conceptual answer for, such
as: "How did the separation happen?" "To whom did the separation
happen?" And many more. There is no theory or concept that can
answer an impossible or hypothetical question that has no basis in
reality. Yet if you look at some of the daily emotions that come up
for you, you can see that you believe that the separation happened.
That is why Christ says: To learn this Course requires willingness to
question every value that you hold. Not one belief can be kept
hidden or it will obscure your learning.

There is an experience that will come that will end all doubting.
Practically speaking, seek for the experience by questioning the ego
belief system of linear time-space, not how the impossible could have
happened. This is removing the obstacles to Love. :)

Beloved, through the 'parable of David' I have spoken in 20 countries
and on 4 continents to thousands of people around the world, and the
question being asked is the #1 question I hear. :)

The Joy and Love I experience some call Enlightenment, and it is
simply the Now. In the Now all seeming questions vanish in
Certainty, yet the questioning of the ego belief system was essential
in my Awakening. I have left many bread crumbs behind, so to speak,
in the hundreds of hours of gatherings that were shared all over the
world - many of which were recorded.

Forgiveness was the final concept, the only concept that released the
ego belief and yielded perfect Happiness. :) Forgiveness, or
Atonement, is thus the seeming gateway of experience that transcends
all theology and unreal questions. For you helpful questions are now
ones that undo or dissolve unconscious assumptions.

Check out the web site, and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. :)
The seeming amnesia about Love is undone in forgiveness. What
never 'happened' can thus never 'happen again.' And there is
no 'mass' forgetting in the Now, only One Being Loving. :)

Remember this From My Universal Curriculum

By giving you My Universal Curriculum I am merely holding up a mirror to point the way to the light of who You really are. I am not giving you this so one can make a new identity. You can take this truth or leave it. And many of you will leave it, for the obvious reason that you will not find gratification in My words. Therefore you will not support them, because you support what you value. Some of you will be tickled and love My words but you will be greatly confused and be teachers of ego. All are called but only a few will transfer My words fully in this generation. These words are for those who have the ears to hear. Remember this from My book A Course in Miracles, "To learn this course requires willingness to question every value that you hold. Not one can be kept hidden and obscure but it will jeopardize your learning. No belief is neutral. Every one has the power to dictate each decision you make. For a decision is a conclusion based on everything that you believe. It is the outcome of belief, and follows it as surely as does suffering follow guilt and freedom sinlessness. There is no substitute for peace. What God creates has no alternative. The truth arises from what He knows. And your decisions come from your beliefs as certainly as all creation rose in His Mind because of what He knows." (T.24.IN.2.1)

Defending and making another wrong through an intellectual stance of a particular spiritual idea, or any idea denies My Curriculum. The whole aim of My Universal Curriculum is to see the present moment as it is, to see that all is perfect now, that there is nothing to be resolved, corrected or fixed. Remember this, "To the extent to which you value guilt, to that extent will you perceive a world in which attack is justified. To the extent to which you recognize that guilt is meaningless, to that extent you will perceive attack cannot be justified. This is in accord with perception's fundamental law: You see what you believe is there, and you believe it there because you want it there. Perception has no other law than this. The rest but stems from this, to hold it up and offer it support. This is perception's form, adapted to this world, of God's more basic law; that love creates itself, and nothing but itself."

There is no journey to God; there is only the timeless moment of Now! When one recognizes this truth, you will see that the separation has not occurred. Remember this, "The mind can make the belief in separation very real and very fearful, and this belief is the "devil". It is powerful, active, destructive and clearly in opposition to God, because it literally denies His Fatherhood. Look at your life and see what the devil has made. But realize that this making will surely dissolve in the light of truth, because its foundation is a lie…Nothing at all has happened but that you have put yourself to sleep, and dreamed a dream in which you were an alien to yourself, and but a part of someone else's dream. The miracle does not awaken you, but merely shows you who the dreamer is. It teaches you there is a choice of dreams while you are still asleep, depending on the purpose of your dreaming. Do you wish for dreams of healing, or for dreams of death? A dream is like a memory in that it pictures what you wanted shown to you."

I take no sides and I judge not the road you seem to travel. I perceive no separation, because I do not see what is not real. This is your calling, a calling into pure abstraction. But this is not what the world wants for spirituality or religion. This is too simple. Unless you believe <think> exactly as the world proclaims spirituality or religion to be, then you are wrong in its eyes. In the worlds eyes there are believers and the unbelievers. This is level confusion, confusing the form of My Universal Course (content) with its particular expression (form). It is important to know that God or Truth can be but known. The important thing to remember is that you are not on either side because there are no sides to truth! There is only Oneness. How can there be sides in abstraction, in Oneness? When we have abstraction, which is ones natural condition; then we have freedom because there is nothing to choose from. This is religion.

I want to make this clear: Nobody misleads anyone else. You are faithful to one or the other, the ego or Me. You make the choice. The most important idea to be clear on is the idea of `cause'. The closest approximation to `cause' or creation that the perceptual realm offers is `choice'. You are either choosing one thought system or another, fear or love, illusions or forgiveness and you cannot serve two masters. Love or fear is the only options that are available in the perceptual realm. And one of them is an illusion and the other is real, which is choiceless abstraction. Remember this, "Whatever is true is eternal, and cannot change or be changed. Spirit is therefore unalterable because it is already perfect, but the mind can elect what it chooses to serve. The only limit put on its choice is that it cannot serve two masters. If it elects to do so, the mind can become the medium by which spirit creates along the line of its own creation. If it does not freely elect to do so, it retains its creative potential but places itself under tyrannous rather than Authoritative control. As a result it imprisons, because such are the dictates of tyrants. To change your mind means to place it at the disposal of true Authority."

"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

The power of your mind lies in your interpretation, so the question is; where do you want to place the power of your mind? Who do you want to lead you? Do you prefer the world and its system of thought or the complete relinquishment of the worlds system? Remember this, "You hate the one you gave the leader's role when you would have it, and you hate as well his not assuming it at times you want to let the follower in you arise, and give away the role of leadership. And this is what you made your brother for, and learned to think that this his purpose is. Unless he serves it, he has not fulfilled the function that was given him by you. And thus he merits death, because he has no purpose and no usefulness to you…. Christ calls to all with equal tenderness, seeing no leaders and no followers, and hearing but one answer to them all. Because He hears one Voice,he cannot hear a different answer from the one He gave when God appointed Him His only Son."

Having a belief system, a set of conceptual thoughts that you regard as the absolute truth, does not make you spiritual or an authority no matter what the foundation of those beliefs are. And in fact the more you make your thoughts (beliefs) into your identity, the more you will be blocked from loves awareness. This is why it's important to undo and question all beliefs. God is beyond belief. Remember this, "Nor is belief in God a really meaningful concept, for God can be but known. Belief implies that unbelief is possible, but knowledge of God has no true opposite. Not to know God is to have no knowledge, and it is to this that all unforgiveness leads. And without knowledge one can have only belief…. All terms are potentially controversial, and those who seek controversy will find it….Theological considerations as such are necessarily controversial, since they depend on belief and can therefore be accepted or rejected. A universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary. It is this experience toward which the course is directed. Here alone consistency becomes possible because here alone uncertainty end."

Spring 1965

In the spring of 1965, just before setting out for a difficult departmental meeting, Bill makes an impassioned speech to Helen in which he says, "There must be another way. Our attitudes are so negative that we cannot work anything out." To Bill's surprise, Helen agrees, without reservation, to help him find "another way."

Summer 1965

A dramatic progression of waking dreams for Schucman ensues, culminating with her experiencing a Voice which speaks clearly in her mind. The Voice, which Helen references with a capital "V", explains to her the visions she has been receiving.

October 1965

One day in October 1965, Helen heard the Voice say: "This is a course in miracles; please take notes."

With Thetford's support and assistance in transcribing her shorthand notes, Schucman takes down, over several years, some 1,500 typewritten pages which becomes A Course in Miracles.

1969

A lengthy process of retyping the Course begins. Bill Thetford is adamant that no changes be made other than correcting the typing errors and removing specifically personal material. Jesus designates Bill to be the one in charge of all changes. At least one copy is given to Fr. Benedict Groeshel, CFR, (Also known as "Father Michael"), a graduate student of Helen and Bill's.

Spring 1972

Dictation of the third volume, Manual for Teachers, begins.

September 1972

The retyping of the text is completed. The transcribing of the third and final volume, the Manual for Teachers, is completed.

Fall 1972

In the months following the completion of A Course in Miracles in 1972, at least four people are given allegedly unrestricted copies: Cal Thatcher, a close friend of Helen's; Fr. Benedict Groeshel, CFR, student of Helen's; Hugh Lynn Cayce, son of psychic Edgar Cayce and Kenneth Wapnick, a clinical psychologist, who had recently converted to Catholicism and is informed of Bill and Helen through Father Groeshel.

November 1972

Helen and Bill meet Ken Wapnick for the first time . He leaves shortly afterward for Israel to spend some quiet time before entering the monastery.

May 1973

Ken Wapnick returns from Israel, meets with Helen and asks to see Helen's manuscript.

Fall 1973

Ken requests permission from Helen to re-edit the Course.

During the editing: 25% of the first 5 chapters is deleted; paragraphs are rearranged; chapter and section titles, previously inserted by Bill and Helen during their re-typing, are changed; punctuation is changed; CAPITALIZATION, previously included for emphasis, is changed to lower case and, in only a few cases, replaced with italics.

The 53 miracle principles are changed to 50. Descriptions of the miracle principles are re-arranged and in some cases obtained from other areas of the text. 127 references to "Soul" are changed to 12. The word "Soul" is either deleted or changed to another word such as: creations, you, spirit.

Spring 1975

Helen, Bill and Ken meet Judy Skutch, president of the Foundation for Parasensory Investigation, during a meeting which has been previously arranged to discuss holistic healing. Judy is shown the newly revised "Course in Miracles".

Summer 1975

Judy Skutch receives permission from Helen and Bill to share copies of the Course with close friends. Judy gives copies to several close friends, among them are Jerry Jampolsky and Jim Bolen.

Fall 1975

The Foundation for Parasensory Investigation changes its name to the Foundation for Inner Peace.

4. A Course In Miracles was not to be commercially advertised. It has and will make its own way around the world. Freely you have received, now freely give.

5. Free copies of A Course In Miracles were to be provided to those people who could not afford the cost of the Course. There was a great story I heard years ago from Ken Wapnick. He went to visit these nuns. He went to this church and entered the sanctuary area and the nuns were all studying A Course in Miracles. They had invited him to come and talk to them about metaphysics. Basically they were practicing lesson 1, letting their eyes move across the sanctuary - these pews do not mean anything, this stained glass window does not mean anything - and they got to the point where they came to the Eucharist. They said, of course we'll skip that. We can't say that about the body of Christ. But actually Jesus says that in the Course. Jesus says that I can't share my body with you, I can share my mind. Jesus would actually say that seeing the meaninglessness of the body is a good practical application of His Course. Do it with the Eucharist too. But when you've been raised with a system that sees that body as sacred, it takes undoing of the belief that there is anything sacred in form. Your mind is sacred. Your Being-ness is sacred. Everything in form is part of the forgiveness lesson. You can see it that way.

Gary Renard touched on the mind this morning and I would like to focus on it today. The mind, in the full awareness of the Atonement, knows that the separation never happened. The full awareness of the Atonement is that the separation never happened. I have traveled more miles than you can even imagine. I've been doing it for 16 years and always hear the same questions, "How did the impossible occur?" "To whom did the impossible occur?" I call them the top questions. How did this happen in the first place? How could perfection, how could God, ever make a mistake? Or how could Christ, who is a perfect Being, ever make a mistake? And basically, it is a statement. When you ask the questions, "How did the impossible occur?" or "How did this happen in the first place?" there is an assumption underneath the questions. And what is that assumption? That it happened! Of course the ego likes that assumption. Then it can ask all kind of questions including how this happened.

It is like you are on a wild goose chase to find the right theology, the right teacher, the right technique, the right mantra. Oh my gosh, the guilt at trying to solve that question. But the very assumption is something we have to learn to release. There will be no theology that will come along to get you out of this. There isn't going to be a concept. There will be an experience that will come
that will end your doubting. In the Course that experience is the Atonement. The Atonement is full awareness that the separation never happened. In this respect, A Course in Miracles is a launching pad. You are on a launching pad where you are ready to take off in a rocket and get up in orbit where you have no sense of gravity. You are happy and free. A Course in Miracles is a book that is just designed to help you get up into orbit, into Being-ness, into your perfection.

One of the errors I'll talk about today, one of the metaphysical errors, is spiritualizing matter. When you try to take anything in form and make it special or spiritual, this is the error. For example, you've heard "go to India and bathe in the Ganges, it is a sacred river."
Or you may have heard that the oil that Mary Magdalene put on Jesus' feet is the sacred oil.
How much does it cost now? I want some of that oil that was on Jesus' feet. Or it seems to play out with food and drink. Drink from the sacred water.
We know from Catholicism you get baptized with holy water - it isn't just tap water, it has to be holy water. The water is supposed to be blessed by a priest to make it holy. These would all be spiritualizing matter errors, or trying to make something sacred in form when only your mind is sacred. The ego wants you to believe that there are certain things that are sacred in form so then you won't forget them. You will cling to them, you will ritualize them. You will hang on, hang on, and hang on. That is an example of spiritualizing matter. That is one common mistake.

Another error results if you start to see anything in form or in the script as being causative, since images are really unreal effects of an unreal cause. The images of the world are unreal effects. And the unreal cause is the ego. The Course teaches that God didn't create this world, God creates the eternal. God creates in Spirit. You know we are all familiar with the phrases in the Bible, "Hold no graven images before the Lord thy God." I always thought about golden calves and stuff like that. Jesus is saying the image is of the cosmos, the graven images are like a veil drawn over the face of Christ to cover the Light.

"We want to be so thorough in tracing "specific personal choices" back to the false belief that underlies them all, that there is the opening for the grand moment that seems to change everything and yet is changeless, this Instant.

The teaching I share is that enlightenment is available this very moment. And anything in one's mind that stands in the way of that recognition of enlightenment right now must first be questioned, and then seen for what it is - illusion.

Please don't get into comparing who is enlightened and who is not. Enlightenment is not personal. Just consider these ideas and the holiness of the intention to be clear. Just say and mean: "I want peace! I want it more than anything else.

I'm going to drop all my masks. I see that in order to drop them, I'm going to have to look at them. I want to see the masks for what they are. I want to discern the false from the true — to be right-minded. What a precious opportunity this is!"

Can you think of anything more important than looking at one's own mind and examining the obstacles to this recognition? Is there anything that even comes close to that? This is a very precious opportunity! "

I am happy to share some thoughts about the way I `arrived' at feeling the complete contentment of this Present Moment. The form of the inner journey seems different for everyone, though there are commonalities that give a hint of the same Purpose that unites us all.

For everyone the journey involves an undoing, an unlearning, or an unraveling of beliefs and concepts and assumptions about everything. As the mind is emptied of concepts it becomes obvious that nothing of form and appearances can be assumed to be true, and yet trust in a Wisdom not of this world grows stronger and stronger in awareness until a State of Certainty of Identity emerges.

For me I can say that it began with a sense of curiosity about the meaning of life. Questions about purpose and healing and direction and death and unrecognized beliefs flittered about my mind and kept recurring over and over like a music play list. Most of my childhood and teen years held enough worries and concerns and hobbies to keep my mind distracted from this curiosity, but after I entered university studies the questions about the purpose of everything could not be kept out of awareness.

I used time in a truly helpful manner during 10 years of university studies by literally questioning everything I believed and questioning everything I had previously assumed to be real and true. I was able to release thoughts that told me I should just pick a role and play a part and grow old and die, and I knew in my heart that there was something amiss with the world I perceived.

Though I did not know what had distorted my perception of the world or how to escape the picture of conflict, I knew that freedom and peace and love and joy were what I hoped to experience and live.

When my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and I watched him wither away to appear like a walking skeleton, and then I experienced his death, my spiritual journey to `Know Thyself' got a jump start and kicked into full speed ahead. Questions that I had never given myself permission to ask came flooding into awareness, and the answers and insights came flooding in as well.

Before I began graduate studies I had found a trustworthy gateway Home - a tickle in my heart that seemed to be Guiding me ever more rapidly inward, developing and strengthening my trust in the Intuitive Spirit, and unfolding before me the steps leading beyond the thinking of the world.

As I followed the tickle I found books that accelerated the opening of my mind, I met people that witnessed to my desire to be truly free, and I experienced glimpses of the deep peace and love that passeth the understanding of the world. Suddenly every relationship was a golden opportunity to heal, every upset was an inroad to unconscious false beliefs, and every opening of my heart was a Homecoming celebration. I was being called out of the thinking of the world to the Kingdom of Heaven within.

After two years of immersing with A Course In Miracles, often for eight hours a day, I began hearing the Voice of Jesus speaking clearly and specifically in my mind, instructing me in the ways of mastering His teachings on forgiveness. I received directions of where to go and what to say and do, lessons in discerning right-minded thinking from wrong-minded thinking, and I was told specifically what was most helpful in terms of the use of time, resources, effort, and money. This opened the way for the next phase of my mind training which was letting the Holy Spirit speak through me. It was one thing to listen and follow the Voice for God.

The next phase required willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to speak using the voice of David, and I was Given numerous assignments to practice this willingness. Jesus guided me to travel throughout the United States and Canada and speak where I was invited to speak, although the entire process felt more like being `spoken through.'

At first I took small trips to New York and Michigan. In the Summer of 1991 the trips became much longer as I set out on my first 5 ½ week journey through the Southwest of the United States and up through the Pacific Northwest (including a visit to Salt Springs Island in Canada) before returning to Cincinnati via Wisconsin and Michigan.

During the first long trip and during all subsequent trips I learned to place complete faith and trust in Jesus and the Holy Spirit to provide for my physical, emotional, and psychological needs. The development of trust was essential for me in order to release my past conditioning and beliefs about survival and safety and protection and planning.

I was learning to be God-dependent by placing my single Purpose out in front and letting the Spirit guide and direct each teaching-learning situation and every holy encounter along the path I walked. In some respects it felt as if I was living out a dream or a fairytale because each day there were so many synchronicities happening and so many apparent `solutions' appearing before any `problem' could even be defined or imagined.

The invitations and offers of help extended throughout the range of the human experience spectrum, from places to stay to food to transportation to books and music to help digging out of a snow storm and emergency road service and towing. I started traveling with no savings in the bank and no worldly investments or organizational support, only feeling impelled to share all the love in my heart and trust that everything I needed to fulfill my function would be provided by Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

After several years of living and traveling in this way I began to meet friends who wanted to share more time being around me, asking their questions and closely observing the way I lived my life to gain insight into the principles and teachings I held dear.

These friends and I began living in spiritual community, and though the names and faces have seemed to change throughout the decade that would follow, this deep feeling of community has remained with me ever since.

Now I experience this community feeling always and in all ways in my heart whether the body of David seems stationary or in motion, alone or in a small group or among hundreds of people. The Purpose I was Called to extend has stabilized my perception of the world, and a feeling of sameness pervades everything and everyone I look upon.

It is very much like a lucid dream that is very happy and calm. The serenity comes from being aware of the dreaming and not taking any of the signs and symbols personally (as if they were actual things existing in and of themselves). The unshakable peace comes from a detachment from appearances and an unswerving dedication to shared Purpose that is continuous.

Everything that seems to come into my awareness I see as Given from the Holy Spirit and Jesus. Being Source-dependent has dissolved away all sense of lack, and thus my attention is never drawn to the images of the world for the purpose of `getting' anything. The images are freed from past egoic intentions and therefore free Now to be used by the Spirit to inspire and bless and comfort in the Plan of Awakening.

There is no question or curiosity about the timing of events and no need to figure out the meaning of the world. There is no one and nothing of the world to fix or change. Being Present allows all things to be exactly as they are.

Seeming plans and logistics and details are Given as they are necessary and helpful, though there is never an emphasis on future outcomes or goals. All that is Given comes safely and surely, and each seeming step feels obvious and natural.

In 1996 I was guided to a small house in Cincinnati, Ohio to use as a quiet retreat and also as a base for launching on subsequent travels and hosting friends from around the world. Immediately the name that was Given to the house was `PeaceHouse' and the house became a symbol for always abiding in peace of mind.

The ideas and love and joy I experience in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit I share on the Internet and at many, many gatherings as time passes by without its touch upon me. As of the printing of this article I have shared at gatherings and stops and visits in 19 countries around the world and in countless holy encounters and Course In Miracles groups as well. The invitations have kept coming and so I go wherever the Spirit Guides in response to the Inner Invitation to join Given by Christ.

The gatherings I share are always very open discussions. As I go to the gatherings I have the willingness to show up in mind and to be truly helpful. I have no agenda and no clue what will be asked or if there will even be talking or not.

Instead, I make myself available to answer questions and to facilitate the expression of the Holy Spirit, which comes through many people, not just myself. People come from so many different backgrounds, cultures and languages. Sometimes I don't even speak the language, but translators show up and it seems like the Holy Spirit is orchestrating the whole thing just for me to share this state of joy and peace and happiness. I'm there to join with everyone.

Those that show up in my gatherings are showing up calling for help. I would say that the Holy Spirit is extremely practical and meets every questioner with what could be most helpful. There is no formula and there is no set answer that can be given across the board because people's consciousness and awareness have such a range.

But when I'm showing up, I truly show up to be only helpful and the Spirit flows through me. I experience joy and so does everyone else in the room. So typically, by the end of the gathering, there are lots of hugs and kisses, sometimes tears, and always a feeling of lightness and joy.

Every encounter I have is a chance to get to know me in the truest sense. What I am always teaching is that there are no private thoughts and no private minds. So the experience that I have when we gather together is of our sameness. We share the same Spirit. This is a feeling more than a group of concepts. It's still always an adventure for me to meet my Self over and over in many delightful ways. I like the spontaneity of the encounters. I like the sense of innocence that we experience together.

I always share in gatherings that there is nothing off limits. This offers a sense of openness that enables everyone to express whatever they're feeling in the moment. This is how we know ourselves. We take the lid off all our feelings and emotions. We bare our soul, and we realize we are not judged for baring our soul. People who I've met along the way feel like they can talk to me and unburden their soul no matter how shameful they feel about it.

I extend what is Given to share and thus remain aware of the I AM THAT I AM. Giving all to all is what having means, and our Heavenly Father's Kingdom is what One Mind has and what One Mind is. In the "process" sense, the more that is shared with those who seek indeed offers more to share. This is, however, the sharing that seems to occur on the horizontal plane and seems to involve the body and words and computers and smiles and hugs, etc.

Yet beyond all "process" and "level" metaphors and symbols, the experience of forgiveness is very, very, very simple! It is a Perspective that is glorious to behold, filled with gratitude and joy, for it is incapable of perceiving any differences at all. Another way of saying this is that forgiveness is devoid of any judgment of specifics, for the Perspective simply sees the false as false, or the falsity of all images.

I share this Perspective with all, for it is the only Perspective that can be shared. There is but one Dreamer of the dream, and in this Perspective all perception is already Healed.

I have no "schedule" to fit anything into. The present moment leaves no "room" for the ordering of "events, situations, and happenings." I watch a stream of past images and simply listen and follow what is Given Within, and that is the Source of all happiness, freedom, peace, and joy!

The PeaceHouse is a symbol that represents a light, happy, and very reverent state of mind. It is not special or sacred "in and of itself," for nothing exists apart from God as a separate entity "in and of itself." Yet in serving the Holy Spirit's Purpose, everyone is welcome and greeted very warmly. All are included in the Spirit's Purpose.

All are reminded of Who they Are. The Presence of God is always very apparent to a mind that is willing to receive that which God has Given forever. Teaching aids appear in many forms, and words, music, books, tapes, videos, DVDs, Cds, pamphlets, web pages, etc. serve the Plan under the Guidance of the Holy Spirit. The world is filled with "parables of hope," and this describes the PeaceHouse and the Awakening Mind ministry that were Given to extend our shared Purpose.

All is offered freely, for there is no cost to anyone. Only gain, using the "process" metaphor, is possible. The desire of the heart is all that is really required.

The Holy Spirit uses time and all the things of time to undo the belief in linear time and the separate sense of self. There is no set form, though the lesson is always the same. Forgiveness, the Perspective, is the only lesson that can be learned. Seeing the cosmos as a single tapestry is Healing, for ideas leave not their source and there is no objective material universe apart from mind. This has been called having dominion over the world, for there is no threat in images once the Dreamer is aware of dreaming.

The Communion of Silence dawns as Mind Awake. Love has no opposite. There is no choice in Being. Mind reaches to Itself, It does not go out. Within Itself It has Everything. Mind is Whole, Singular, Unified, One. The horizontal "personal perspective" dissolves in the Vertical as darkness vanishes in the Light. God is the only Cause, and nothing exists outside the Mind of God.

The world is causeless and therefore without real effects. There is no "brother," be it "self" or "other," "attempting" or "trying to reach" or "striving" in Silent Communion, for All is One and recognizes Its Oneness.

There is no "enlightened person," for the construct of "person" is impossible. There is no "communication" between persons, for there is only One Mind which knows no "betweeness. " Union is not the illusion of two-getherness, for Union is wholly of and in One Divine Mind. There could never be a "joining" of fragments, for the assumption of fragmentation has no foundation in God. Communion transcends the suggestion of "parts," the belief in fragmentation.

Father and Son, Creator and Creation are the only Real Relationship. What is the Same cannot be different, and What is One cannot have separate parts. Communion is the deepest experience of Awe and Gratitude and the Vision of Christ which lifts and replaces the veil of perception forever. An experience that ends all doubting is the experience of Silent Communion.

When symbols merge and have no distinctiveness the time for words is almost over. Words are but symbols of symbols, twice removed from Reality.

They were made as labels for attack thoughts or illusory fragments. As the impossibility of fragmentation dawns, the Name of God safely replaces all symbols. Oneness is Supreme Happiness, and as Silent Communion deepens, there is no need for words or labels.

Divine Communication is a continuous Song of Thanks that Creation sings to Creator, Who returns the Thanks. There are no levels, no layers, no categories, and no differences in Oneness. There is no problem to be solved in the Acceptance of Atonement, for the truth is true and nothing else is true! I thank God!

Spiritual community is a state of mind, and the Purpose of Atonement is witnessed to when the Purpose is held dear. By inviting Christ into one's heart one beholds the symbols of the forgiven world in a unified Purpose.

The Communion of Silence Calls, and the mind emptied of illusions and fantasies is made ready. When Jesus broke bread and drank wine with the apostles in the upper room he reminded them: "Do this in remembrance of me." In every holy encounter and within the holy instant we include our very Being in the Communion of God and Christ and Their Eternal Dance.

I am coming to Australia upon invitation, which I happily received and accepted. Our journey together now is not the way of the cross - it is the Way of the Heart. Sacrifice and deprivation are behind us now, and Joy is the abundantly Given choice available for Awakening.

Love waits on welcome and acceptance, and this is now the focus. This tour of Australia will mirror the mind's journey to the remembrance of God's Love. We will begin on the Gold Coast and journey upward toward an Easter retreat and resurrection celebration high in the Blue Mountains outside of Sydney. We ascend as One Self, the Living Christ.

In 2007 I have been hearing the theme: `Make no compromise.' The Communion of Silence Calls, and as the year unfolds I feel Called to yield ever deeper to the Call. I have stepped back from many of the functions I have extended in Purpose over the last 16 years, although I still feel a Calling to travel for some of this year.

It will be a year of witnesses to the Silence of Holy Communion. The hush of Heaven holds my heart, and our joining comes in reverence to our Creator. I think of the brothers that joined St Francis and the sisters that joined Mother Teresa and the apostles that joined Jesus in the quest for remembrance of God. There is much to celebrate this Easter and every moment of every day! Arise in Christ, as Christ, forever Christ as One Self in God's Love. Arise and rejoice that Innocence is invulnerable and unassailable, and that the time of true Freedom is at hand. Now is the time.

My friend Isira will be joining the retreat in the Blue Mountains for a day and sharing the Light and Laughter and Divine Love of the One. This Oneness transcends the roads that seem to approach It. Truth is a pathless experience that knows no opposite, far beyond the symbols of the world. Beyond east and west, male and female, young and old, beginner and advanced, you are worthy of the experience of Love Beloved Child of God.

I invite you to join in at any time, at any place, in any part of the tour - and rejoice with us! Join in the discussions along the way. Share your experiences and raise your questions. Meditate and pray with us. Share a meal with us. Climb the mountain with us. Dance and move with us. Stretch with us and expand into the Identity Which God created Forever One. This is an experience of the Awakening Mind. Everyone is included.

You are entitled to miracles because of what you are.
You will receive miracles because of what God is.
And you will offer miracles because you are one with God.
Again, how simple is salvation!
It is merely a statement of your true Identity.
It is this that we will celebrate today.
Your claim to miracles does not lie in your illusions about yourself.
It does not depend on any magical powers you have ascribed to yourself,
nor on any of the rituals you have devised.
It is inherent in the truth of what you are.
It is implicit in what God your Father is.
It was ensured in your creation, and guaranteed by the laws of God.
Today we will claim the miracles which are your right, since they belong to you.
You have been promised full release from the world you made.
You have been assured that the Kingdom of God is within you, and can never be lost.
We ask no more than what belongs to us in truth.
Today, however, we will also make sure that we will not content ourselves with less.
Begin the longer practice periods by telling yourself quite confidently that you are entitled to miracles.
Closing your eyes, remind yourself that you are asking only for what is rightfully yours.
Remind yourself also that miracles are never taken from one and given to another,
and that in asking for your rights, you are upholding the rights of everyone.
Miracles do not obey the laws of this world.
They merely follow from the laws of God.
After this brief introductory phase, wait quietly for the assurance that your request is granted.
You have asked for the salvation of the world, and for your own.
You have requested that you be given the means by which this is accomplished.
You cannot fail to be assured in this.
You are but asking that the Will of God be done.
In doing this, you do not really ask for anything.
You state a fact that cannot be denied.
The Holy Spirit cannot but assure you that your request is granted.
The fact that you accepted must be so.
There is no room for doubt and uncertainty today.
We are asking a real question at last.
The answer is a simple statement of a simple fact.
You will receive the assurance that you seek.

Our shorter practice periods will be frequent,
and will also be devoted to a reminder of a simple fact.
Tell yourself often today: I am entitled to miracles.
Ask for them whenever a situation arises in which they are called for.
You will recognize these situations.
And since you are not relying on yourself to find the miracle,
you are fully entitled to receive it whenever you ask.
Remember, too, not to be satisfied with less than the perfect answer.
Be quick to tell yourself, should you be tempted:
I will not trade miracles for grievances.
I want only what belongs to me.
God has established miracles as my right.

RUNGS	DISTINCTIONS BETWEEN PRAYERS	EXAMPLE OF PRAYER
Being the Prayer	Now prayer is lifted from the world of things, of bodies, and of gods of every kind, and we rest in holiness at last. There is no asking, for there is no lack. We are transformed, for we recognize the Christ in ourselves. (We are that which we have prayed for.) Prayer is now the single voice Creator and creation share.	I cannot go without you, for you are a part of me. (With this prayer, we stand at the gate of Heaven.)
Praying With Others (Continuing to rise: Now it is possible to help in prayer, and so reach up yourself)	We are enemies no more. In praying with others, we share a goal. Yet it is likely, at first, that what is asked for even by those who join in prayer is not the goal that prayer should truly seek. Even together you may ask for things, and thus set up but an illusion of a goal you share. You may ask together for specifics and not realize that you are asking for effects without the cause. Even the joining, then, is not enough, if those who prayer together do not ask, before all else, what is the Will of God. (This, then, is praying with others, asking for the Will of God.)	We go together, you and I.
Praying for Others (Beginning to rise: Until this second level at least begins, one cannot share in prayer.)	Praying for others, if rightly understood, becomes a means for lifting your projections of guilt from your brother, and enabling you to recognize it is not he who is hurting you. The poisonous thought that he is your enemy, your evil counterpart, your nemesis, must be relinquished before you can be saved from guilt (to be saved from guilt is to recognize that our brother is not our enemy). For this, the means is prayer.	What I have asked for for my brother is not what I would have. Thus have I made of him my enemy.
Praying Out Of Need (lowest rung)	There are two asking-out-of-need prayers: The lowest of the two forms is prayer about wanting; prayer that comes out of a sense of scarcity and lack. Often, this prayer does not make an appeal to God or even involve Him. The next to the lowest prayer is a higher form of asking out of need. The asking may be addressed to God in honest belief but without understanding. It asks for things of this world and also for such gifts as honesty and goodness, and for forgiveness. At this same level, we have prayers for one's enemies, but our belief in enemies means we have limited prayer to the laws of this world. Praying for enemies suggests "otherness" and the Course recommends we pray for ourselves.
